Job Postings. 16.01 (a) Every three months the Company will post for five (5) working days those jobs for which it expects openings to occur, other than on a temporary basis, during the three month period. Employees may submit requests on a Company supplied form to fill expected openings during the particular three month period. When openings occur, and after the provisions outlined in 13.2(a) above have been exhausted, employees with seniority who have submitted a request for the particular job will be given consideration. Employees will be selected in accordance with the principle of seniority as defined in Section 13.1. If a vacancy occurs which was not posted as outlined above, the Company will create a special posting that will remain open for five (5) working days and will select a candidate in accordance with the provisions of this section from among those employees who bid for the special posting. The Company will e-mail the names of the successful candidates to all bargaining unit employees. The Company will forward to the Union a copy of all job postings, a list of all applicants and qualified applicants as soon as available and a list of successful applicants following notification to these employees. The Union shall post the names of the successful candidates. The Company will forward to the employee a receipt at the time of application, a letter of notification to the employee regarding whether or not they were successful and, upon request, notification of whether or not they have passed any required tests. Nothing in this provision, however, will prevent the Company from offering either employees involved in a surplus a lateral or downgrade reclassification in lieu of layoff or employees returning to the bargaining unit to a job classification previously held prior to posting. The Company may, at times, determine a need for a term job assignment. The Company may post a term job following the same procedure as listed above but the vesting provisions outlined in section 13.3(c) will not apply in these circumstances. Term assignments will not extend beyond six (6) months of the date of appointment. The term may be ended by the Company prior to the posted end date. Upon completion of the term assignment the employee will be returned to the classification from which they left, provided their seniority permits. If a permanent job posting becomes available during the term assignment, the employee may apply to the posting in accordance with 13.3 (a). Any time spent on a term assignment will not be used towards experience on future job postings. Employees will be compensated for term assignments in accordance with 6.1 (b). This provision will not prevent the Company from utilizing temporary assignments as per section 13.8.
(b) An employee who is the most senior qualified applicant to a job posting shall have forty-eight (48) hours from when they receive their offer to both determine whether they will accept or deny it, and then return a signed copy to the Company. In the event that the Employer determines that response deadline falls on a vacancy is to be filled or a new position is created within the bargaining unitweekend, the Employer employee shall post notice of the position have until 3:30 PM on the bulletin board following business day to return a signed copy. If the employee is unable to return a signed copy before the deadline they may respond electronically. Failure to respond will be considered a declined offer. Should an employee decline more than one (1) offer during the period of July 1st to June 30th, the employee will be ineligible to apply for another bargaining unit posting for a minimum period of five six (56) days. A copy of all postings shall be forwarded to months from the Union on date in which they declined the day of the postinglatter offer.

16.05 The successful applicant provided Training Program shall be placed in the correlating job classification in accordance with section 13.2 and must accept the position if such placement is within twelve (12) months of completion of the training. Should an employee be eligible for multiple placements within the same period, the Company and Union will have meaningful discussion to resolve the conflict.
(d) An employee who has bid for and accepted an assessment period for the first 520 hours worked. The assessment period may be extended for up to an additional 80 hours worked and offer shall not be extended further without mutual agreement. 3.1.6 Where the available position is temporary, the employee shall job posting will state this and will include the anticipated duration of employment.

Job Postings. 16.01 (a) Descriptions of all anticipated positions within the Bargaining Unit prepared in accordance with Article
12.01 shall be posted on Departmental (or Faculty in Non-departmental Faculties) bulletin boards or web sites by March 31 for anticipated positions in the following September to April period. Upon request by employees, a listing of all anticipated positions shall be sent to them if they normally work away from the Point Grey campus of UBC. The Department shall send a copy of such postings to the Union office. Posting of such descriptions in Departments and Faculties for the information of members of the Bargaining Unit does not preclude the announcement of graduate teaching assistantships in graduate program brochures.
(b) These postings shall also include: an estimate of the number of positions available in the course, current salary, application procedures, the location of application forms, deadline for application and the statement “UBC hires on the basis of merit and is committed to employment equity. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply”.
(c) The following process shall be followed for expected vacancies for the ensuing Teaching Year (defined as the period from September 1 through the following August 31):
(i) Members of the Bargaining Unit shall have until April 30 to submit an application. The application form shall permit an applicant to express a preference among descriptions posted.
(ii) The Department shall develop a pool of preferred candidates for positions in the Bargaining Unit from the applications submitted in accordance with Article 13.01(c) above. Preferred candidates entering the pool will be determined in accordance with Article 13.01. No applicant shall be granted preference for more than one (1) full teaching assistantship or its equivalent (384 hours) in any Teaching Year. The Department shall send a copy of this pool to the Union office as well as to each applicant who has requested that it be forwarded to him/her and who has provided a forwarding address.
(iii) Members of the Bargaining Unit who submit an application after April 30 and before offers of appointment are made will be added to the pool of preferred candidates after all other preferred candidates in the pool have been considered for appointment.
(iv) In the event of a change or changes in the pool of preferred candidates after May 15 and before August 1, the Department shall amend the pool of preferred candidates for positions in the Bargaining Unit. The Department shall send, in the first week of August, a copy of the amendment to the Union office as well as to each preferred candidate whose name has been removed from the pool and who has provided a forwarding address.
(v) A member who holds a teaching assistantship in the Summer Session (as defined in the University Calendar) immediately following the issuance of the names of the preferred candidates shall, subject to the provisions of Article 13.01, form part of the amendment.
(d) The provisions of this article shall apply to anticipated vacancies, which are subject to financing, for positions within the Bargaining Unit during the Summer Session with the exception of deadlines. Descriptions of anticipated positions shall be posted by March 15 for the following Summer Session. Members of the Bargaining Unit shall have ten (10) working days from the date of posting to submit an application. Applications submitted after this period may not be considered.
(e) In the event that unanticipated positions become available during the Employer determines that a vacancy is to Winter Session, positions must be filled or a new position is created posted within the bargaining unit, the Employer shall post notice of department for ten (10) days if the position on the bulletin board for a minimum of five (5) days. A copy of all postings shall be forwarded to the Union on the day of the posting.

Job Postings. 16.01 In 13.01 The Employer shall post notices of vacant positions including a description of the event that duties for the Employer determines that a vacancy is to be filled or a new position is created posted job within the bargaining unit, the Employer shall post notice of the position unit on the bulletin board in work locations for a minimum period of five (5) days. 16.04 Within seven (7) calendar days. They will also notify casual employees and employees on leave, who have informed the Executive Director or Designate in writing of their interest, of the posting of any vacant permanent positions at the same time. The position will be awarded within three (3) working days of after the date of appointment to a vacant or newly created position, posting has been removed and the name of the successful internal applicant will be posted. That successful applicant will start in their position within two (2) weeks from the date the position was awarded. The notice shall identify the typical duties required, the qualifications and abilities necessary, the classification, wage rate, regular scheduled days of work, normal starting and quitting times and application forms which clearly state the closing date for submitting applications to the Employer.
13.02 Seniority and qualifications shall be posted on the bulletin board given equal weight when making a selection for a minimum vacant position providing the employee has the ability to perform the work required within a familiarization period of ten (10) shifts consistent with Article 13.03 herein. Where there are no employees possessing the qualifications to perform the work, or where the Employer believes that there are no employees with the qualifications who could reasonably be expected to demonstrate the ability within the familiarization period, the Employer may post the position externally and select an external candidate. Should an employee challenge a selection or external posting made by the Employer under this Article, then the selection justification or external posting factors shall be provided to the Union upon request if such request is presented within seven (7) working dayscalendar days of the selection or external posting, as the case may be.
16.05 The successful applicant shall be placed 13.03 If within ten (10) shifts worked or one (1) calendar month, whichever is the shortest, counted from the date the employee commenced work in their new position, they prove (in the position for an assessment period for the first 520 hours worked. 16.06 A temporary vacancy resulting from illness13.04 Temporary positions of less than eight (8) consecutive weeks, injury, suspension, will be filled in accordance with Article 12.10: Available Hours of Work. Temporary positions of eight (8) consecutive weeks or more which are the result of an employee being on an approved leave of absence, temporary excess workload, vacation, sick or similar reason may disabled shall be filled by the Employer without regard to the provisions of this Article for up to a maximum of 520 hours worked. A temporary vacancy which the Employer knows at the outset, or becomes aware, will last for more than 520 working hours, will be filled at that point in time posted in accordance with Article 13.01 above and identified as temporary nature. 13.05 In the event that the Employer wishes to make changes to the qualifications required for any classification in the bargaining unit, or the Employer adds a new classification, and with it new qualifications, the Employer agrees to advise the Union. Should the Union have any concerns with respect to the reasonableness of the qualifications for any classification, the Union shall, within thirty (30) days of receipt of the information from the Employer, provide such concerns in writing to the Employer. The Employer will parties shall meet to attempt to fill resolve the vacancy internallyareas of concern. Should the parties fail to resolve the concerns, by calling the Union reserves the right to refer the matter to a bargaining unit employee with single arbitrator as outlined in this Agreement on the requisite skill and ability necessary to do basis of the work, so long as it does not result “reasonableness” of the required qualifications in additional overtime, training time, or training costs, which the Employer is not prepared to paydispute.

Conditional on satisfactory service, after performing the assessment period has been completednormal requirements of the job, the employee shall be confirmed in the new positiondeclared permanent after a period of ninety (90) calendar days. Job Postings. 16.01 (a) Descriptions of all anticipated positions within the Bargaining Unit prepared in accordance with Article 12.01 shall be posted on Departmental (or Faculty in Non-departmental Faculties) bulletin boards or web sites by March 31 for anticipated positions in the following September to April period. Upon request by employees, a listing of all anticipated positions shall be sent to them if they normally work away from the Point Grey campus of UBC. The Department shall send a copy of such postings to the Union office. Posting of such descriptions in Departments and Faculties for the information of members of the Bargaining Unit does not preclude the announcement of graduate teaching assistantships in graduate program brochures.
(b) These postings shall also include: an estimate of the number of positions available in the course, current salary, application procedures, the location of application forms, deadline for application and the statement “UBC hires on the basis of merit and is committed to employment equity. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply”.
(c) The following process shall be followed for expected vacancies for the ensuing Teaching Year (defined as the period from September 1 through the following August 31):
(i) Members of the bargaining unit shall have until April 30 to submit an application. The application form shall permit an applicant to express a preference among descriptions posted.
(ii) The Department shall develop a pool of preferred candidates for positions in the bargaining unit from the applications submitted in accordance with Article 13.01(c) above. Preferred candidates entering the pool will be determined in accordance with Article 13.01. No applicant shall be granted preference for more than one (1) full teaching assistantship or its equivalent (384 hours) in any Teaching Year. The Department shall send a copy of this pool to the Union office as well as to each applicant who has requested that it be forwarded to him/her and who has provided a forwarding address.
(iii) Members of the bargaining unit who submit an application after April 30 and before offers of appointment are made will be added to the pool of preferred candidates after all other preferred candidates in the pool have been considered for appointment.
(iv) In the event of a change or changes in the pool of preferred candidates after May 15 and before August 1, the Department shall amend the pool of preferred candidates for positions in the bargaining unit. The Department shall send, in the first week of August, a copy of the amendment to the Union office as well as to each preferred candidate whose name has been removed from the pool and who has provided a forwarding address.
(v) A member who holds a teaching assistantship in the Summer Session (as defined in the University Calendar) immediately following the issuance of the names of the preferred candidates shall, subject to the provisions of Article 13.01, form part of the amendment.
(d) The provisions of this article shall apply to anticipated vacancies, which are subject to financing, for positions within the Bargaining Unit during the Summer Session with the exception of deadlines. Descriptions of anticipated positions shall be posted by March 15 for the following Summer Session. Members of the Bargaining Unit shall have ten (10) working days from the date of posting to submit an application. Applications submitted after this period may not be considered.
(e) In the event that unanticipated positions become available during the Employer determines that a vacancy is to Winter Session, positions must be filled or a new position is created posted within the bargaining unit, the Employer shall post notice of department for ten (10) days if the position on the bulletin board for a minimum of five (5) days. Job Postings. 16.01 In the event that the Employer determines that a vacancy is to be filled or (a) When a new position is created within the bargaining unit, the Employer shall post notice of the position new position. Job Postings. 16.01 In the event that 1. d) That the following factors must be considered in decisions regarding promotion or transfer:

iii) seniority.
e) That when factors i) and ii) are relatively equal in the judgement of the applicants Employer, which judgement should not be exercised in an arbitrary or discriminatory manner, then factor iii) shall prevail.
5. A successful applicant to a job posting shall be placed on a trial period of 3 months. Upon completion of said trial period, and provided their performance has been satisfactory, the successful applicant's position shall be confirmed.

Job Postings. 16.01 In 7.01 The Employer recognizes its responsibility to employees who have a long continuous service record. The Employer agrees to give consideration to the event that length of service of an employee for promotions within the bargaining unit, as herein after provided. Job Postings. 16.01 In Section 1. Whenever the event that the Employer Company determines that a vacancy is to be filled vacancy, other than a temporary vacancy, exists in any biddable job classification, or a new position is created job becomes available, the Company will post a job posting on the bulletin boards for ten (10) consecutive days. The bid will remain posted for fifteen (15) consecutive days. Employees desiring to bid on the vacancy shall apply in writing to the Human Resources Department within the allotted fifteen (15) days. Upon request, a copy of the job posting and of all bids shall be provided to the Local Union President. At the end of the fifteen (15) days, the successful, senior qualified candidate will be determined based on their departmental seniority. If there are no qualified employees within the department, Union seniority will apply. If no qualified candidate from within the bargaining unitunit applies or no bid is received within the time frame set forth above, the Employer shall post notice job may be filled by the Company from any other sources. d. one (1) or more MSHA/OSHA medical reportable/recordable incidents
SECTION 2. The proposed creation of a new test, or the elimination or change of an existing test, shall first be discussed with the area Chief Xxxxxxx of the affected department. If the parties aren't able to agree on such new test or changes, the bulletin board Union may file a grievance as to the reasonableness of the test as set forth in this Agreement.
SECTION 3. Laid off employees, who have seniority rights, shall be eligible to bid on all job postings, in accordance with Article 15, Lay-Off and Recall.
SECTION 4. From time to time, temporary vacancies of less than ninety (90) calendar days may occur due to illness, injury or an abnormal increase in workload. Vacancies of this nature will be filled at the Company's discretion. Full-time job assignments so filled shall be open for a minimum of bidding within forty-five (545) days. (f) The following factors shall determine which employees shall fill the vacancy or newly created position:
(i) the ability and qualifications to perform the normal requirements of the position; and

Job Postings. 16.01 13.01 In order to ensure that employees are given the event that opportunity of applying for positions, the Employer agrees to comply with the following procedures:

Job Postings. 16.01 In Section 9.1. 16.05 (c) An employee occupying a temporary vacancy for greater than one (1) year shall receive all benefits and entitlements (except LTD) applicable to the regular position they are occupying for the duration of their temporary assignment.
17.04 For Support Worker positions in any Home funded or licensed all or in part under the Children and Family Services Act (or successor legislation) or funded directly by the Children’s Aid Society the Employer will have the right to hire one (1) Worker per child who is not presently a member of the bargaining unit who has a history with the child as their Worker, without the requirement of job posting and whose selection may not be the subject of a grievance by an employee or the Union. Seniority for an employee hired pursuant to this sub-article shall be calculated in accordance with sub-article 17.14.7.
17.05 The successful applicant shall be placed in the position for an assessment subject to a trial period for the first 520 hours of up to sixty (60) days worked. 16.06 A temporary vacancy resulting from illness17.06 The successful applicant for a permanent job posting shall not be eligible to apply for any further job posting which is posted during the six (6) month period immediately following the date upon which the employee accepts the position, injuryunless the job posting is for a position in a higher rated classification or a job of at least ten percent (10%) increase in the normal scheduled hours of work.
17.07 If there are no applicants or no successful applicants for a posted position, suspension, leave of absence, temporary excess workload, vacation, or similar reason may be filled by the Employer without regard shall be entitled to fill the provisions of this Article for up to position in such manner as it sees fit. The Employer may also fill a maximum of 520 hours worked. A temporary vacancy which position in such manner as it sees fit while observing the Employer knows at the outset, or becomes aware, will last for more than 520 working hours, will be filled at that point posting procedure contained in time in accordance with the applicable provisions of this Article. Job Postings. 16.01 In 10:01 The selection or appointment of employees for supervisory positions above the event that the Employer determines that a vacancy rank of Sergeant or for any position not subject to this Agreement is not governed by this Agreement. However, if an employee so chooses or is found to be filled unsuitable in such supervisory position within a period of ninety (90) calendar days from the date of their appointment, they shall be transferred back to their former position without loss of seniority, providing said employee has taken out a withdrawal card from the Union.
(a) When new jobs are created or a new position is created vacancies occur falling within the bargaining unit, the Employer shall post notice classifications set forth in Schedule "A" of the position on the bulletin board within Contractual Agreement, they shall be posted electronically for a minimum of five seven (57) calendar days. A copy of all postings the posting shall be forwarded sent to the Union on Chairperson prior to the day position being electronically posted. 16.06 A (b) When new positions are available for Special Constable, applicants from Parking Services who are interested may apply provided they meet the provisions of Article 10:03
(a) Persons applying for positions in the Special Constable and Sergeant classification, shall be required as a condition of their attainment of such positions, be able to qualify and maintain eligibility for Special Constable status, and be in the possession of the following: a current Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (O.A.C.P.) Certificate of Results for Police Officers or equivalent as deemed by the Director of Special Constable Services, a valid classification G Driver’s License within the Province of Ontario, a current First Aid/CPR Certificate and a Police Clearance. In situations where all of the above criteria are met then the Employer shall select the employee having the longest seniority within the Bargaining Unit.
(b) In the event that an employee holding a Special Constable appointment does not re- qualify for Special Constable status, they shall have the opportunity to appeal to the Windsor Police Services Board, as provided for in the Police Services Act. Pending the outcome of the appeal, the Employer shall continue to employ the employee at their current rate of pay. If the appeal is successful and the employee is granted Special Constable status, they shall continue to be employed in their current position. If the appeal is unsuccessful the parties agree to meet and discuss employment opportunities for the employee elsewhere in the University.
(c) Persons applying for positions in the Parking Enforcement Officer classification, shall be required, as a condition of their attainment of such positions, to be in the possession of the following: a valid classification G Driver’s License within the Province of Ontario and a Police Clearance. In situations where all of the above criteria are met then the Employer shall select the employee in accordance with Article 10:02(a).
(d) New employees applying for positions in the Parking Assistant classification, shall be required, as a condition of their attainment of such positions, to be in the possession of a Police Clearance. In situations where the above criteria is met then the Employer shall select the employee in accordance with Article 10:02 (a).
(e) The Employer agrees that all applicants within the Bargaining Unit and the Chairperson will be notified in writing, upon selection of the successful candidate, within seven (7) days. The Chairperson shall be given reasons in writing for rejection of Bargaining Unit applicants upon request.
(a) The Employer may replace an employee on an approved Leave of Absence, Long Term Disability or Workplace Safety Insurance for the lesser of the duration of the leave or ninety (90) calendar days, with a temporary vacancy resulting employee(s) who shall not acquire seniority status except as provided in clause 10:05 below. If the Employer fails to notify the Union within fourteen (14) calendar days from illnessthe date of hire of such temporary employee(s), injurythe employee shall be considered a probationary employee from the date of hire.
(b) In the case of maternity, suspensionparental or adoption leave, the Employer may replace an employee to a maximum of eighteen (18) months. If the Employer fails to notify the Union within fourteen (14) calendar days from the date of hire of such temporary employee(s), the employee shall be considered a probationary employee from the date of hire.
(c) If the leave extends beyond ninety (90) calendar days, the Employer may, with the written consent of the Union, retain the temporary employee(s) for a further ninety (90) calendar days, or until the end of the leave of absence, temporary excess workload, vacation, or similar reason may whichever first occurs. Those employees replacing parking services shall be filled by the Employer without regard to the provisions paid at eighty-five percent (85%) of this Article for up to a maximum of 520 hours worked. Job Postings. 16.01 In 11.01 Where the event that the Employer determines that a vacancy is to be filled or Company creates a new permanent position is created within the bargaining unitor wishes to fill a permanent vacancy, the Employer shall it will post notice of the position for three (3) working days on the bulletin board. The Company shall not train a person from outside the bargaining unit if an employee from the bargaining unit desiring the vacancy can be trained within a reasonable time frame.
(b) Jobs shall not be considered permanently vacant when being filled as a result of sickness, accident or authorized leave of absence anticipated to last more than fifteen (15) calendar days. Such vacancy shall be posted as an interim vacancy and the provisions of this Article shall apply. It is agreed and understood that all vacancies resulting from the posting of the interim vacancy shall be filled at the discretion of the Company. Upon return of the absent employee, all affected employees shall return to their former jobs.
11.03 An employee who successfully posts for a classification which has an equivalent or higher end rate than the previously held classification shall move to the six month rate on the grid for the new classification or the employee shall retain his/her existing rate whichever is greater. For the purpose of progression on the wage grid, of the new classification, the employee shall be deemed to have spent six months time in the new classification.
11.04 The Company shall announce the successful applicant within ten (10) working days of the date closure of appointment to a vacant or newly created the job posting. And once the successful applicant has been awarded the position, the name employee shall receive the applicable rate of pay. The Company shall provide copies of all job posting applications to the successful applicant Union.
11.05 The Company is committed to providing cross-training opportunities for its employees. When such opportunities are available, they shall be posted on the bulletin board board. 16.05 The successful applicant shall be placed in the position for an assessment period for the first 520 hours worked. The assessment period may be extended for up to an additional 80 hours worked and shall not be extended further without mutual agreement. Conditional on satisfactory service, after the assessment period has been completedposition, the employee shall be confirmed in the new position. Job Postings. 16.01 In 17.01 With the event exception of the Support Co-ordinator position, all job postings shall be awarded to the most senior applicant able to meet the reasonable requirements of the job. All job requirements shall be listed in detail on the job posting.
17.02 The Employer shall make available Job Application Forms on which employees applying for positions must submit their qualifications for consideration for the posted position at the time that the position is posted.

16.05 (c) An employee occupying a temporary vacancy for greater than one (1) year shall receive all benefits and entitlements (except LTD) applicable to the regular position they are occupying for the duration of their temporary assignment.
17.04 For Support Worker positions in any Home funded or licensed all or in part under the Children and Family Services Act (or successor legislation) or funded directly by the Children's Aid Society the Employer will have the right to hire one (1) Worker per child who is not presently a member of the bargaining unit who has a history with the child as their Worker, without the requirement of job posting and whose selection may not be the subject of a grievance by an employee or the Union. Seniority for an employee hired pursuant to this sub-article shall be calculated in accordance with sub-article 17.14.7.
17.05 The successful applicant shall be placed in the position for an assessment subject to a trial period for the first 520 hours of up to sixty (60) days worked. 17.07 If there are no applicants or no successful applicants for a posted position, suspension, leave of absence, temporary excess workload, vacation, or similar reason may be filled by the Employer without regard shall be entitled to fill the provisions of this Article for up to position in such manner as it sees fit. The Employer may also fill a maximum of 520 hours worked. Job Postings. 16.01 In 10.01 Subject to Article 6.01 (d), when any of the event that jobs in the bargaining unit become vacant on a permanent basis, the Corporation will post a notice of the vacancy for a period of seven (7) working days on the bulletin board in all work areas and give consideration to filling the vacancy. An employee being returned to their former classification shall be entitled to receive in writing the rationale relied upon by the Corporation in making that determination. Job Postings. 16.01 In the event that the Employer determines that a vacancy is to be filled or a new position is created 17.01 The Board shall post job vacancies within the bargaining unit, the Employer shall post notice of the position on the bulletin board unit for a minimum of five (5) daysworking days on its internal electronic system, within ten (10) working days of the vacancy becoming known unless otherwise agreed to by the Union.

Job Postings. 16.01 (1) For the purposes of this Article, a vacancy results from the normal turnover of personnel as in the case of retirement, death, promotion, dismissal, demotion for cause, transfer of employees to jobs not covered by this Bargaining Unit or new positions. Only vacancies in class A will be posted and all steady day shift positions will also be posted and, for steady day shift positions only, seniority shall be the governing factor. In the application of the above day shift positions, a training period of up to six (6) weeks, will be allowed in order to achieve reasonable production requirements. (5) If, following 30 work days of learning, the employee is removed from his/her job by the Company, or for reasons mutually agreed upon other than lay-off, the employee will have the right to any job that has not been filled through application in the job posting procedure and is held by a probationary employee, and if none, the right to bump the least senior employee in the plant, providing he/she has the necessary qualifications and ability to perform the job as stated in (b).
(6) If there are no eligible and qualified applicants, the Company will fill the position at its own discretion, and the Company will endeavour, where possible, to fill the vacant position from within the Bargaining Unit.
(7) If an employee is successful in obtaining a job through a job posting, the employee will be ineligible to sign another job posting for the following six (6) months such period of time commencing the first day the employee starts the new job. In the case of a job assigned to a new employee, the six (6) month period between job bidding will not apply until a new employee has signed and been given a job of his/her own choice through posting.
(8) In considering applicants for a job posting, no consideration will be given to any experience gained by an applicant that was obtained in filling the vacancy on a temporary basis.

Job Postings. 16.01 20.01 When there are openings within the job classifications covered by the Collective Agreement, the Company will post notices on the bulletin boards throughout the plants. These notices will contain classification(s), program and bay and will remain posted for a period of seventy-two (72) hours 7 calendar days before hiring outside help and, in the interim, applications from eligible employees will be considered in conjunction with Clauses 17.03 (c), 18.01. Every reasonable effort shall be made to place the employee in the identified position. Job Postings. 16.01 In the event that the Employer determines that a vacancy is to be filled or a new position is created 17.01 The Board shall post job vacancies within the bargaining unit, the Employer shall post notice of the position on the bulletin board unit for a minimum of five (5) daysworking days on its internal electronic system, within ten (10) working days of the vacancy becoming known unless otherwise agreed to by the Union.

Job Postings. 16.01 In Section 1. Whenever the event that the Employer Company determines that a vacancy is to be filled vacancy, other than a temporary vacancy, exists in any biddable job classification or a new position is created job becomes available, the Company will post a job bulletin covering such classification on the bulletin boards. The bid will remain posted for fifteen (15) consecutive days. Employees desiring to bid on the vacancy shall apply in writing to the Human Resources Department within the allotted fifteen (15) days. Upon request, a copy of the job posting and of all bids shall be provided to the Local Union President. a) Regular Positions
i) The Employer shall give the Chief Xxxxxxx(s) an advanced copy of any bargaining unit job posting twenty-four (24) hours before posting and shall post a notice of vacancy on the bulletin board and electronically, with its rate of pay, for a period of ten (10) working days, to give present employees an opportunity to apply for this position. All regular bargaining unit postings will be Company-wide. An employee on an approved leave or vacation for the entire posting period will be allowed a further five (5) working days to apply. b) Temporary Positions
i) Work will be assigned to the Department employees on the basis of Management’s assessment of workload and priorities. Job Postings. 16.01 In 15.01 The Employer shall determine from time to time the event that the Employer determines that a vacancy is maximum number of employees to be filled employed in each job classification.

In the event the successful applicant proves unsatisfactory in the position during the assessment period, he they shall be returned to his their former position and wage or salary rate, without loss of seniority. Any other employee promoted or transferred because of the rearrangement of positions shall also be returned to his their former position and wage or salary rate, without loss of seniority.
16.06 A temporary vacancy resulting from illness, injury, suspension, leave of absence, temporary excess workload, vacation, or similar reason may be filled by the Employer without regard to the provisions of this Article for up to a maximum of 520 hours worked. A temporary vacancy which the Employer knows at the outset, or becomes aware, will last for more than 520 working hours, will be filled at that point in time in accordance with the applicable provisions of this Article. The Employer will attempt to fill the vacancy internally, by calling a bargaining unit employee with the requisite skill and ability necessary to do the work, so long as it does not result in additional overtime, training time, or training costs, which the Employer is not prepared to pay.
