Job Postings. 24.01 All permanent vacancies in the bargaining unit will be posted on the Bulletin Boards within five (5) working days and any employee in the bargaining unit may make application for such vacancy. Where it is apparent that an employee is able to perform the normal requirements of the posting she/he will be confirmed into the position and receive the full rate of pay. Where there is neither an applicant nor an acceptance of a vacancy, the Company reserves the right to fill the position externally.

To determine qualifications, the Employer has used skill tests to determine skill level of the applicants, particularly in secretarial positions. The Employer and the Union have reached the understanding that such tests given to applicants will be confirmed into the position same test for all applicants and receive the full rate that all applicants for same or similar position(s) will be assured of pay. Job Postings. 24.01 17.01 All original permanent vacancies or newly created classifications within the scope of this Agreement shall be posted for one (1) week (7 calendar days) during which time employees may apply for the posted position in writing on a form supplied by the Employer. Only one subsequent posting shall occur, after which any remaining vacancy shall be filled by seniority within the department. 17.02 For information purposes only, all postings will indicate: a. Classification; b. Department; c. Starting date of the position; d. Qualifications required; e. Anticipated duration for temporary position; and f. In the absence of the Manager, postings shall be given to the Charge Nurse. 17.04 If no application is received from an employee of the bargaining unit, or if no employee qualifies for the posted position, then the Employer may hire an employee from outside the bargaining unit. 17.05 Vacancies shall be posted within a reasonable time frame of the vacancy becoming known to the Employer. 17.06 A vacancy can be filled at the discretion of the Employer on a temporary basis while the posting procedure is on-going. 17.07 Staff changes, transfers or promotions within the bargaining unit shall be filled through the following process: a. The employee who possess the required qualifications within the same classification and department by seniority. b. If the vacancy remains open the Employer will consider applications from within the bargaining unit. In the event one (1) or more employees apply, the Employer shall consider the qualifications, experience, ability and seniority of the applicants. Where these factors are equal, the applicant with the greatest seniority shall fill the vacancy provided she can perform the work without training other than orientation. Upon request to the Department Supervisor, the Employer will discuss with any unsuccessful applicant the manner in which the employee may improve her position and her work in order to be posted considered for any future vacancy. 17.08 The successful applicant to any permanent job posting shall be placed on the Bulletin Boards within five (5) working days and any employee trial in the bargaining unit may make application for such vacancy. In the event that an a part-time employee is able to perform the normal requirements of the posting she/he will be confirmed into the position and receive the full rate of pay. Where there is neither an successful applicant nor an acceptance of for a temporary full-time vacancy, the Company reserves part-time employee shall retain his/her part-time status during the right temporary full-time period. An employee filling a temporary vacancy shall not bid on any other temporary posting until the end of his/her temporary position. 17.10 Permanent full-time employees may not apply for a temporary part-time position. 17.11 Employees filling a temporary vacancy shall be returned to fill their former positions at the conclusion of the temporary vacancy. Any other employee affected shall similarly be returned to their former position externallyor positions. 17.12 Temporary postings will not end without two (2) weeks’ notice, unless it is for a sick leave, in which case one (1) week of notice will be given.

The resulting new job or vacancy will be posted pursuant to Article 12.01. 12.07 Leadhand opportunities will be posted in accordance with Article 26.05. 12.08 The Company shall post the successful candidate for the job posting, and provide the union a list of all candidates for that job posting at the same time. 12.09 Candidates will begin the new posting within twenty (20) worked days, of the Company posting the successful candidate.

Job Postings. 24.01 All permanent 11.01 Where a full-time vacancy exists, the vacancy shall be filled through a job posting. The job posting will include an outline of the duties and responsibilities of the position, the skills and abilities required to perform the job, the trial period, the occupational classification and pay level pre-determined for the position. Job vacancies in the bargaining unit will be posted on the Bulletin Boards within for a period of five (5) working days days. Job openings, if still needed, must be reposted if not filled within 3 months. 11.02 When filling a job posting, the position will be awarded to the employee who meets the basic requirement of a Qualified Employee as defined in Article 21.03 and any employee who in the opinion of the Company, has the greater skill, ability and aptitude. In circumstances where the Company concludes that two employees are relatively equal in their skill, ability and/or aptitude the more senior applicant will be awarded the position. 11.03 In the event that there is no qualified applicant on a job posting, the Company may repost the job as a training position or hire from outside the bargaining unit may make application unit. The posting for such vacancya training position will specify, in addition to a standard job posting, the training period and rate of pay for training. 11.04 When the Company has employees on notice or on layoff, who have recall rights, consideration of those employee’s skills and abilities will be made prior to the posting of any open positions. Job Postings. 24.01 16.01 In the event new jobs are created or vacancies occur in existing job classifications the Employer will post such new jobs or vacancies for a period of ten (10) calendar days and shall stipulate the qualifications, classification, rate and department concerned before new employees are hired, in order to allow employees with seniority to apply. 16.02 Until the vacancy is filled resulting from the job posting provisions, the Employer is free to fill the vacancy on a temporary basis. 16.03 If no applications are received by 10:00 a.m. of the tenth day following the posting date, the Employer may start proceedings to secure permanent applications for the vacancy from outside labour sources. 16.04 All permanent vacancies in the bargaining unit applications received will be posted on the Bulletin Boards considered within five (5) days of the end of the posting procedure. Any other employee promoted or transferred as a result of the re-arrangement of positions shall also be returned to her former position and salary without loss of seniority. 16.07 The above provisions shall also apply in the event of a transfer to a position outside the bargaining unit. It is understood however, that no employee shall be transferred to a position outside the bargaining unit without her consent. 16.08 The Employer will discuss with any unsuccessful applicant upon request the manner in which the employee may make application improve his position and his work in order to be considered for such any future vacancy. Job Postings. 24.01 All permanent vacancies a. At any time employees may request in writing consideration for openings/positions for which they are qualified or expect to be qualified for the following year. b. When an opening occurs the Superintendent shall attempt to notify those who have requested notification of such opening. c. Postings shall also be electronically mailed to all employees on their District-provided email address. An employee who wishes to apply for a vacant position and who believes he/she meets the qualifications set forth in the bargaining unit posting and job description shall submit an application or resume. The employee’s immediate supervisor or principal will be posted on consulted regarding the Bulletin Boards employee’s job performance. Based upon a review of the employee’s written application or resume, and prior job performance, the employee meeting the qualifications of the job posting will be granted an interview and full consideration, however, an interview does not guarantee the employee the position for a vacancy outside of the employee’s classification. If an interview is not granted or the position if not offered, the employee may request, in writing, a formal written response identifying the specific reasons why he/she was not granted an interview or offered the position. Such response shall be given within five (5) working work days from the date the request is received. When a vacancy is posted for a job classification for which the employee has already interviewed, if interested in that vacancy, the employee shall apply for the position and any employee his/her earlier submitted information will be considered. The employees who are interviewed will be given consideration based upon their individual qualifications, skills, ability to perform the work, and prior job performance. Job Postings. 24.01 All permanent 16.01 In the event new jobs are created or vacancies occur in existing job classifications the Employer will post such new jobs or vacancies for a period of ten (10) calendar days and shall stipulate the qualifications, classification, rate, number of hours in the bargaining unit position, Part-time or Full-time and department concerned before new employees are hired, in order to allow employees with seniority to apply. 16.02 Until the vacancy is filled resulting from the job posting provisions, the Employer is free to fill the vacancy on a temporary basis. 16.03 If no applications are received by 10:00 a.m. of the tenth day following the posting date, the Employer may start proceedings to secure permanent applications for the vacancy from outside labour sources. 16.04 All applications received will be posted on the Bulletin Boards considered within five (5) working days of the end of the posting procedure. In the event one or more employees apply, the Employer shall consider the qualifications, experience, ability and any seniority of the applicants. Where these factors are equal, the applicant with the greatest seniority shall fill the vacancy. 16.05 The successful applicant shall be placed on trial in the new position for a period of 30 shifts worked. Such trial promotion or transfer shall become permanent after the trial period unless: (a) the employee feels that she is not suitable for the position and wishes to return to her former position, (b) the Employer feels that the employee is not suitable for the position and requires that she return to her former position. 16.06 In the event of either (a) or (b) above the employee will return to her former position and salary without loss of seniority. Any other employee promoted or transferred as a result of the re-arrangement of positions shall also be returned to her former position and salary without loss of seniority. 16.07 The above provisions shall also apply in the event of a transfer to a position outside the bargaining unit. It is understood however, that no employee shall be transferred to a position outside the bargaining unit without her consent. 16.08 The Employer will discuss with any unsuccessful applicant upon request the manner in which the employee may make application improve his position and his work in order to be considered for such any future vacancy. Job Postings. 24.01 All permanent vacancies (a) Except as noted in clause (n) hereinafter, the Company agrees that in the bargaining unit case of a permanent vacancy a notice will be posted placed on the Bulletin Boards within five plant bulletin board for a forty-eight hour period, describing the vacancy and the essential qualifications required of applicants for the position. (f) If the employee is the successful job bidder on a job where his current rate of pay is higher than the entry level or any intermediary level of the job to which he has bid, he will retain his former rate through the rate progression steps of the new position until the rate of the new position exceeds his current rate. (g) An applicant selected by this Article, whether successful or not, will forfeit their right not be allowed to future postings for the same job bid on any other posting for a period of six (6) months. The posting will include months from the Job Classification, rate of pay, and hours of work only, however, a physical demands analysis may be posted alongside. To be eligible, employees must submit their application prior date on which he/she was selected to the end of the third working day of the posting. (b) With exception of Set-up Moulding and Attendant , progression within the classifications will be as follows: (i) Employees in “D” class will progress to “C” class after sixty (60) days. (ii) Employees in “C” class will progress to “B” class after sixty (60) days.

Job Postings. 24.01 All permanent 11.01 In the case of all vacancies and new positions in the bargaining unit unit, the Employer will post notice of such vacancy in each office for seven (7) calendar days prior to filling the position, in order that any interested Nurse may apply. However, after recall if the recalled employee's primary job becomes vacant, he shall be given first opportunity as contained herein. Job Postings. 24.01 6.1 Within three (3) weeks the Employer will post any vacancy or new position which occurs in any occupation coming within the scope of this Agreement. If the Employer determines to postpone filling or not to fill a vacancy, the Union shall be notified in writing. The vacancy will be posted electronically on a Thursday for at least five (5) business days prior to the filling of such positions. Postings shall be issued for the initial vacancy and three (3) subsequent vacancies only.
