Effective from the day preceding the posting closure they will not be entitled to post from such successful classification for a period of three (3) months. Job Postings. 20.01 Vacancies 12.1 All permanent vacancies or newly created classifications determined by the Employer to be filled shall be posted for one (1) week at one location in the jobs listed 19.01 staff room on a designated bulletin board during which time employees may apply for the said position in writing on a form supplied by the Employer. 12.2 Any notice posted pursuant to 15.01 above shall contain the position and qualifications. 12.3 If no application is received from an employee of the Residence within one (1) week of the job posting, or if no employee qualifies within the trial period as set forth in 07, for the vacancy, then the Employer may hire an employee from outside the bargaining unit. In addition, the Employer may continuously advertise employment opportunities outside the home. Such advertising will not be considered a violation of the posting procedure. 12.4 Vacancies which are not expected to exceed sixty (60) calendar days and vacancies caused due to illness, accident and leaves of absences may be filled at the discretion of the Employer, in accordance with Article 15.06. In filling such vacancies preference shall be given to employees in the bargaining unit on the basis of seniority as per the above. 12.5 In the event an employee has been accepted to fill a permanent vacancy, then at any time within the first sixty (60) days after being assigned to such vacancy he may elect to revert to his old position. Only the original vacancy and two (2) subsequent vacancies resulting from the original posting shall be posted, and all vacancies which may occur as a result of having filled the original vacancy shall be filled at the discretion of the Employer. 12.6 Staff changes, transfers or promotions within the bargaining unit shall be determined upon the following factors: (a) Skill, competency, efficiency, ability and reliability. (b) Seniority; Where the qualifications in factor (a) are relatively equal, then seniority shall govern. 12.7 The successful applicant shall be placed on trial for a period of sixty (60) working days. Conditional on satisfactory performance, any promotion or transfer made in accordance with this Article shall become permanent after the period of sixty (60) working days. Any subsequent vacancies created by the original vacancy will be filled by means of employee canvas and will be awarded to the highest seniority employee that expresses interest at the time of the canvas. All successful applicants awarded a job posting will be paid at the applicable rate of pay designated the vacancy he/she is filling. 21.03 If there are no successful applications to fill such vacancy or that position as soon as practicablenew job created received from employees within the bargaining unit, then the Company may fill the vacancy or new job created in any manner it sees fit except contracting out or in of the position. Job Postings. 20.01 Vacancies in 16.01 All new jobs, permanent vacancies and temporary vacancies (thirty (30) days or more) within the jobs listed 19.01 bargaining unit will be filled posted. The Company will post the new jobs or vacancies for the “notice of vacancy” period which will be from 10:00am Monday until 4:00pm on Thursday. There will be no posting during a week in accordance with which a Holiday occurs unless mutually agreed between the provisions of this ArticleUnion and the Company. 20.02 Postings 16.02 For the purpose of section 16.01, temporary vacancies are those openings created as a result of an absence from work, for permanent/temporary vacanciesany reason, that exceeds thirty (30) days. 16.03 The posted notice will contain the job classification, identify the department, the classification, position, rate of pay, start time, work schedule (including days of the weekoff) and required qualifications and certification(s). 16.04 Employees wishing to apply for a posted job will do so through electronic bidding system (SITENET portal), which will provide a confirmation number or by a paper posting process where equivalent information will be provided to applicants. By assigning employees in the RTO, Loader, Sanitation and Receiver classifications to their preferred job function / work order (Sanitation) within their classification. 2. By upgrading or assigning those in the Selector classification to their preferred job function within their classification (4(b) above), as determined by their stated preference. Upgrades will be done from the Selector classification only. 3. In the event temporary assignments or upgrades are required during the course of the shift, the Company will follow the same procedure as described in (1) and (2) above. It is agreed that no employee will be temporarily assigned/upgraded until they have completed their present task/order, unless directed to do so by management. Notwithstanding the above, Employees working within the Receiver and Loading classification will be able to report state their preference to voluntarily move between these classifications when temporary assignments are available in their department. 4. Job Postings. 20.01 Vacancies 22.01 The Company will post all vacant/new positions within fourteen (14) calendar days of the position becoming vacant. The Company shall post the vacancy on the bulletin board for a period of eight (8) calendar days. During the period where the vacancy is posted and until the successful team member is placed into the role, the Company may make a temporary appointment for such vacant job. All postings will state job title, wage rate, hours of work, type of shift (days or shift) and be crew specific. 22.02 Team members will not be considered for a vacant job, unless they apply in writing, during the jobs listed 19.01 eight (8) calendar day period on forms to be supplied by the Company. All reasonable effort will be made to advise absent team members of such vacancy. 22.03 Only team members who have completed the probationary period and who have occupied their existing position for more than six (6) months may submit an application for a posted vacancy. The Company will determine whether a vacancy(ies) exists.
