Jury/Hearing Leave. Any unit member serving on jury duty or who is subpoenaed to attend a hearing shall be compensated by the Board at his/her regular rate of pay for each day of such service. The Board shall not be required to grant such pay to a unit member who is an adverse party to a suit against the Board except in an unfair labor practice charge under the provisions of O.R.C. 4117.

Jury/Hearing Leave. 1. Teachers who are called to serve on jury duty shall be granted leave with full pay. 2. Teachers who are subpoenaed to appear in court or at hearings, which are school related, but the teacher and/or Association is not the plaintiff shall be granted leave with full pay. 3. Teachers who are subpoenaed to appear in court or at hearings on criminal cases in which they are not the defendant shall be granted leave with full pay. 4. Teachers who are subpoenaed to appear in court or at hearings, which are other than school related or criminal cases, shall upon request be granted unpaid leave. Teachers who are on leave with pay shall remit to the Board the amount received for such service minus the amount of reasonable expenses not paid by the legal entity, which is the cause of such appearance to serve.
Jury/Hearing Leave. Unit members who are called to serve on Jury Duty or are subpoenaed to appear at legal hearings which are related to the unit members' employment by the Brookfield Board of Education shall be granted leave with full pay. Payment received from the agency causing the service of the unit member, up to the amount of full pay, shall be remitted to the Board, except the unit member may deduct from such remittance, the amount spent on parking for the legal hearing of the amount of the actual receipt(s) which must be submitted to the Treasurer of the Board. An individual unit member suing the Board or any of its administrators may not receive pay under this section.

  • Taking Leave An employee may take annual leave in periods agreed between the employer and the employee provided that one (1) of the periods shall be of at least ten (10) working days.

  • Subpoena Leave 4.11.1 When a unit member is absent because of a mandatory court appearance, except as a litigant, the unit member shall suffer no monetary or sick leave loss by reason of this service. 4.11.2 Fees, exclusive of mileage, paid by the court or party requiring a unit member's appearance shall be paid to the District unless the fees are greater than the unit member's salary, in which case the unit member may retain the fees and be listed as absent due to personal business without pay. 4.11.3 A copy of the subpoena or certificate of the clerk of the court must be filed with the absence report.

  • Jury Service Leave An employee required to attend for jury service will be entitled to have their pay made up by the employer to equal their ordinary rate for eight (8) hours (inclusive of accrued entitlements prescribed by Clause 31 – Hours of work) per day plus fares whilst meeting this requirement. The employee will give the employer proof of such attendance and the amount received in respect of such jury service.
