Layoff List Computation. When it becomes necessary to reduce the work force in any department, the Human Resources Director shall establish a layoff list by department and class. Said layoff list shall be based upon seniority as follows:

Layoff List Computation. When it becomes necessary to reduce the work force in the department, the Human Resources Director shall establish a layoff list by department and class. Said layoff list shall be based upon seniority as follows: Seniority Defined: For each regular employee seniority will be measured from such employee’s initial appointment to permanent County service. Seniority shall not be calculated nor included for any period during which the employee did not receive compensation, or for any time the employee was off work as result of a disciplinary action which was appealable and either not appealed or was sustained or modified upon appeal. For any employee who is re-employed after permanent separation, seniority shall be measured from the date of his/her most recent appointment.
Layoff List Computation. A. Every Layoff list shall be established by the Human Resources Department based on information contained in the Human Resources Department Records for each classification.

  • Layoff Lists The names of employees who have been laid off or demoted in lieu of layoff, or whose position has been reallocated down shall be placed on a Seniority Unit Layoff List for the seniority unit, classification, geographic location and employment condition from which they were laid off or demoted in lieu of layoff in order of Classification Seniority. Employees may also indicate, in writing, other geographic locations for which they are available. Employees may change their availability at any time through written notice to the Employer. Unless removed via 1-4, names shall be retained on the layoff list for a minimum of one (1) year or for a period of time equal to the employee's State Seniority, to a maximum of four (4) years. A copy of such list shall be made available to the Council upon request.
