Leave Choices. In Districts 1 and 2 supervisors shall select their annual leave and float time prior to the selection of leaves and float time by constables. In District 1 supervisors shall pick their annual leave and float time among supervisors in their platoon according to seniority as defined in the Collective Agreement. There can be a total of four (4) officers including a maximum of one (1) supervisor off at any one time and if there is no supervisor off, four (4) constables can be off at the same time. In District 2 supervisors shall pick their annual leave and float time among supervisors in their platoon according to seniority as defined in the Collective Agreement. There can be a total of three (3) officers including a maximum of one (1) supervisor off at any one time and if there is no supervisor off, three (3) constables can be off at the same time. In Districts 5 and 8 supervisors shall pick their annual leave and float time with their Platoons according to seniority as defined in the Collective Agreement. There can be a total of two (2) officers off at any one time. In Districts 3 and 6, supervisors shall select their annual leave and float time prior to the selection of leaves and float time by constables and such District 3 and 6 supervisors shall choose their annual leave and float time as a group based on seniority. In District 3, there can be a total of three (3) officers including a maximum of one (1) supervisor off at any one time and if there is no District 3 supervisor off, three (3) constables can be off at the same time. In District 6, there can be a total of one (1) officer off at any one time unless a District 6 supervisor is off, in which case there can be two (2) officers off, one of which is such supervisor and the other being a constable. In circumstances where the number of officers assigned to a Platoon is fewer than those identified in Article 5.1.13, the leave choices as identified in Article 5.1.14 shall govern. Notwithstanding the maximum numbers allowed off at any one time set out above, where because of their numbers and weeks of entitlement, members cannot take all of their leave allotment by year end, the District Commander shall employ the following process to allow more members to be off such that all members are able to take their leave allotment by year end (except in extraordinary circumstances where, on reasonable grounds, the District Commander may decline to do so): Supervisors shall determine the number of blocks required...

  • Sick Leave Abuse ‌ When the Employer suspects sick leave abuse, the employee will be provided the opportunity to explain the circumstances surrounding their sick leave use prior to disciplining the employee, or making reference to sick leave use in the employee’s performance evaluation. The Employer may not adopt or enforce any policy that counts the use of paid sick leave time as an absence that may lead to or result in disciplinary action for an authorized purpose. The Employer may not discriminate or retaliate against an employee for the use of paid sick leave for an authorized purpose.

  • Leave Pay A. Fifteen (15) days of sick leave shall be credited to a school year employee after reporting for their first day of work. All unused sick leave and personal leave days from the current year will be added to the bank of sick days for the following year. All unused sick leave days in excess of ninety (90) days shall be returned to the employee at the end of the current school year on the basis of fifteen dollars ($15.00) per day.

  • SICK LEAVE PROGRAM An employee may be eligible to receive donations of paid leave to be included in the employee's sick leave balance if s/he has suffered a catastrophic illness or injury which prevents the employee from being able to work or from being able to work his/her regularly scheduled number of hours. Catastrophic illness or injury is defined as a critical medical condition considered to be terminal, or a long-term major physical impairment or disability.

  • Sick Leave Plan The benefits of the Company’s Sick Leave Plan shall be considered as part of this Agreement. However, it is recognized that its provisions are not an automatic right of an employee and the administration of this plan and all decisions regarding the appropriateness or degree of its application shall be vested solely in the Company. The Company’s Sick Leave Plan will provide that probationary and regular employees will commence with a credit of eight days at 100 percent (100%) and 15 days at 75 percent (75%) pay, payable from the first day of sickness. This credit will continue to be available until the employee attains his/her first annual accumulation date as a regular employee. At the time of this accumulation date and each subsequent accumulation date he/she will acquire additional credits of eight days at 100 percent (100%) pay and 15 days at 75 percent (75%) pay. The accumulation of credits will be subject to the provisions of the Company’s Sick Leave Plan. Regular part-time employees shall receive a pro-rated number of sick days. When a regular part-time employee is absent due to illness on a scheduled day of work, they shall be paid for the hours of work scheduled for that day provided sick leave credits are available. Normally employees will be expected to arrange routine medical or dental appointments during non-working hours. Where such appointments cannot be arranged during non-working hours and the employee can be released from his/her duties, then the time shall be charged against an employee's sick leave time except in the case of medical appointments of less than half a day where normal earnings will be maintained. Employees who are on sick leave for 30 days or more may be eligible to participate in a vocational rehabilitation program in accordance with the Company’s policy. All major medical absence forms will be completed for any absence of four (4) continuous days/shifts or more or when requested by management. The Company will compensate the employee for the cost associated with completing these forms up to a maximum of $30.00. Additionally, the company will compensate the employee for the full cost of all medical notes, medical forms or medical information required to support LTD or other Wellness programs. This provision applies to Doctor’s notes requested by Line Management as part of the administration of the sick leave plan. Employees will be required to submit all forms required by management through their personal physician. Sick Leave benefits are conditional upon receipt of these forms and it is the responsibility of the employee to ensure that the employer receives these forms within a reasonable period of time. Any discipline related to sick leave that is imposed and grieved by the union will be referred directly to Xxxxxx Xxxxxxxxx for resolution.

  • Sick Leave Payout No cash payment for unused sick leave will be paid to any employee leaving the service of the Employer.

  • Leave Year The leave year begins with the first full payroll period of a calendar year and ends with the payroll period in which December 31st falls.

  • SICK LEAVE (Continued 15.8 Sick leave not to exceed forty (40) hours may be utilized by employees for the birth or adoption of the employee’s child or a child regularly residing in the employee’s immediate household. The leave must be consecutive and taken within six (6) months of the birth or adoption.

  • Sick Leave Use Sick leave will be charged in one-tenth (1/10th) of an hour increments and may be used for the following reasons:

  • Leave Days 1. Each full-time teacher employed under regular contract shall be entitled to an annual allotment of thirteen (13) leave days. Such allotment shall be credited the first day of each school year and unused days shall be accumulated as sick leave to a total of one hundred eighty-two and one half (182.5) days. The teacher’s accumulated sick days may be used following use of 13 days and a doctor’s note with approval by Superintendent. Certificated staff with an accumulation of 182.5 days of accumulated sick leave shall be compensated at the end of each school year at the rate of the current daily certified substitute pay per each unused day above the 182.5 day accumulation. Such payments shall be made in July of each year. This money shall be placed in the teacher’s 403(b). If school corporation revenue in the Education Fund exceeds expenditures in the calendar year by an amount between $6,000 and $24,000, then the amount of that excess (minus compensation pay), not to exceed $18,000, shall be made available to fund a buyback of unused accumulated sick leave days on the following terms: Teachers shall have the option of selling up to ten (10) days, per round, of unused accumulated sick leave back to the school corporation at the daily rate of pay for a certified substitute teacher. This option will be offered to teachers in accordance with their seniority (total years of continuous service at Western Xxxxx) in the school corporation, with the teacher with the most seniority having priority to exercise the option, and it shall be available only to the extent of the total amount of money available as set forth above. Payment for these days shall be deposited in the individual teacher’s 403(b) plan, and upon payment those sick leave days shall no longer be available to the selling teacher. Said days must have been earned while the teacher has been employed in the school corporation. To participate in the program a teacher must maintain at all times a minimum balance of one hundred (100) days of accumulated sick leave. This method shall continue in successive rounds until the available money remaining less than daily rate of pay for a certified substitute teacher. If more money is available to the school corporation than is needed to fund the buy-backs exercised under this program, the school corporation may retain such money in its Education Fund. After selling a cumulative amount of eighty (80) days, teachers will receive a guaranteed buyback of any leave days over one hundred (100) remaining at the end of each school year.
