Leave for Examination. 1. Leave of absence with pay may be granted so that a teacher may attend an examination which cannot be scheduled outside of normal working hours, provided that the Board is satisfied that the examination is for a purpose useful to the District.

Leave for Examination. An employee shall be entitled, with the approval of the Administrator, to a leave of absence without pay for one (1) day per year to write examinations for courses required to meet standards or upgrade employee’s qualifications for service within the Home. Requests for such leave shall be in writing. Seniority and benefits for full-time employees shall continue to accrue on Examination Leave.
Leave for Examination treatment and check-up by a dentist or doctor, treatment by a physiotherapist or chiropractor when national insurance allows benefits for such treatment. This concerns instances where it is not possible to obtain an appointment outside of working hours. In some cases the employee may also have a long journey. Such cases will not come under these rules, which apply only to short welfare leave. Besides, in last-mentioned cases, the employee will usually be on sick leave.
