LIMIT ON EMPLOYEE'S RESPONSIBILITY. Regular substitute pay shall be given to an employee who assumes simultaneous responsibility for his or her own students and another employee's students. Pay will be calculated as half the hourly rate for substitute teaching. This substitute pay shall apply to team-teaching, collaborative classrooms and/or turn-teaching situations except when a student teacher is present.
LIMIT ON EMPLOYEE'S RESPONSIBILITY. With respect to academic subjects, the employer shall make a reasonable effort to avoid situations wherein an employee is required to assume the responsibility of another employee’s students simultaneously with his/her own students.

When a teacher has to take over responsibility for supervising/teaching students for another teacher (i.e. - P.E. teacher who ends up covering two classes in the event the other teacher needs to leave for IEP or emergency) that teacher would be compensated at the rate of $25 per hour as well.
