Loss of Vacation. Employees are required to take their normal vacations each year, provided, however, that for reasons deemed sufficient by the Fire Chief, an employee may, with the consent of the Fire Chief and the City Manager, take less than the normal vacation one year with a correspondingly longer vacation for the following year.

Loss of Vacation. Any hours earned in excess of the maximum accrual shall be lost. If the officer has lost any vacation hours as a result of exceeding the maximum accrual, he/she may make written request to be paid for those lost hours. In order to be paid for those lost hours, the officer must have made a reasonable and timely written request to use the hours and been denied the opportunity in writing. Payment shall be received within thirty (30) calendar days following submission of the written request.

  • Interruption of Vacation An employee shall be permitted to interrupt or terminate vacation leave in order to begin another type of paid leave provided the employee supplies notice and supporting information regarding the basis for such interruption or termination to the District.

Vacation earned in excess of the maximum accumulation shall be taken within two (2) years of the date the supervisor returns from the Military Leave.

  • Callback from Vacation (a) Employees who have commenced their annual vacation shall not be called back to work, except in cases of extreme emergency.

  • Restoration of Vacation Leave In the event an employee is injured or becomes ill while on vacation leave, the employee may submit a written request to use sick leave and have the equivalent amount of vacation leave restored. The supervisor may require a written medical certificate.

  • Weeks Vacation Subject to Article 17.08 and Article 17.01 (a) (ii), employees shall be entitled to take five (5) weeks vacation leave with pay during the first and subsequent complete fiscal years following the date in which they complete fourteen (14) years of service. Such leave shall be earned at the rate of two and one-twelfth (2 1/12) days for each completed calendar month of service.

  • Time of Vacation (a) All vacation earned during one (1) vacation year shall be taken during the next following vacation year at a mutually agreeable time.

  • Banked Vacation Once every five years an employee may bank one full year's vacation to be taken in conjunction with the next year's vacation. For the purposes of this clause, all vacation in the second year must be taken concurrently.
