Master Officer Program. The City may establish a Master Officer Program with the intent to incentivize superior performance among sworn officers. Participation in any such program will be entirely voluntary for sworn officers and no officer will be disciplined for failing to participate in or, having participated, for failing to meet any of the standards set by the program. Before enacting such a program, and subsequent to any major changes in the program after implementation, the City shall review and discuss the program at a meeting of the Labor-Management Committee. The requirements of any such program, as well as the benefits of successfully meeting those requirements, will be clearly disseminated to all officers prior to enactment.

The program will establish criteria, which when attained by an officer, will result in the officer being rewarded financially and ceremoniously for having achieved prescribed goals, subject to approval by the Chief and existing budgetary limitations. 32.02 For the contract period of 10/01/2010 through 09/30/2011 bargaining unit members Officers who achieve and maintain the level of Master Officer will receive a lump sum payment of $1500 annually on as soon as administratively possible after October 1st. Officers must be designated by the Chief as a Master Officer by on 09/30 October 1 of each year to be eligible for annual payment on 10/01. Officers not designated as a Master Officer on October 1 are not eligible for the annual payment.
Master Officer Program. Purpose, Pay, And Certification Effective July 1, 2005, the City will implement a Master Officer Program. The purpose of the Master Officer Program is to provide additional career opportunities, and to provide the Department with officers that have a broader base of experience and skill sets. A Master Officer shall receive special departmental certificate of recognition in addition to the supplemental pay. Master Officer Pay will be five percent (5.0%) of the top salary step of rank.
