The cabinet shall be mounted at an intersection designated by the Engineer on an existing foundation or a new foundation installed under Item 812.51 or 812.52. The cabinet assembly shall run the intersection according to the intersection's current Timing and Sequence chart or as amended by the Engineer. The controller, malfunction management unit, flasher, load switches and flash transfer relays shall conform to their respective specified item in these special provisions. For this item the controller shall be TS2, Type 1. The cabinet assembly shall be paid for as a complete unit using Items 819.005 or 819.006 only. A complete working traffic signal controller cabinet assembly complying with NEMA TS2-2003 specifications in its totality except the following options shall be installed. The applicable NEMA section is referenced in parenthesis: • Pre-wired with Type 1, Config.#2 Assembly (5.3.1) • Detector Rack Config.#1 (5.3.4) • 4 Dual Channel Type C Loop Detectors (6.5.2.2.1) • Pre-wired with Type 1, Config.#3 Assembly (5.3.1) • Detector Rack Config.#2 (5.3.4)

The borders shall be constructed from a 3-inch retrorelective adhesive sheeting border on the entire outer perimeter of the back- plate panels. Retroreflective sheeting type shall be Yellow, Type III or Type IV. Back-plates and louvered lens covers may be installed on existing or newly installed signal housings. The configuration of a five section heads may be either a "cluster" type or a total vertical arrangement. The price shall include all work and materials necessary for the proper installation of back-plates for 3, 4, and 5 section, 12-inch signal. Work shall include mounting hardware, tools, labor and all incidentals necessary to complete the work.
