Notice for Fixed Term Appointments. The University will provide a Staff Member on a Fixed Term Appointment with 4 weeks written notice of its intention to offer or not offer further employment with the University at the expiry of the Fixed Term Appointment. In addition to the notice prescribed in this Clauseclause 14.43.1, a Staff Member on a Fixed Term Appointment, over the age of 45 years at the time of the University giving notice and who has not less than 2 years Continuous Service, will be given an additional 1 week notice. If, because of circumstances beyond the University’s control, the University is not able to provide the notice required under this Clauseclause 14.43, it will be sufficient compliance with this Clauseclause if the University: provides the Staff Member on the Fixed Term Appointment written advice of those circumstances no later than the latest time at which the notice would otherwise be required to be given; and gives notice to the Staff Member on the Fixed Term Appointment at the earliest practicable date thereafter.
