Notice of leave request. Any employee needing time away from work for service or training in the military must make the Human Resources Department aware of the need for leave as soon as written or verbal orders from the military are received. Such notice will be in writing and shall provide all pertinent information such as first day on leave and the anticipated return to work date. If an employee is seeking military leave for reserve training during the school year, s/he shall provide verification that such training could not otherwise occur during the summer recess period when school is not in session.

An employee needing time away from work for service or training in the uniformed services should make the Chief of Police aware of the need for leave as soon as the employee receives the written or verbal orders. It is requested that notice should be provided at least 30 days before the leave begins where it is at all possible.
Notice of leave request. Requests for leaves under paragraphs D or E shall be made to the Superintendent of Schools at least sixty (60) days in advance of the leave’s cprhmencement. Such leaves may not be terminated sooner than the end of the semester in which the leave begins. Notice of intent to return from leave shall be given to the Superintendent as soon as possible but; not later than sixty (60); days prior to return: An administrator on unpaid leave shall advance on the salary schedule upon return to active duty provided that at least five (5) months or one (1) semester. were served prior to the commencement of the leave.

It is requested that notice should be provided at least 30 days before the leave begins where it is at all possible to do so. An employee’s request for leave may include reasonable time off to get personal business in order prior to commencing service in the uniformed services. Reasonable time off will be decided by the Town Administrator based on a case by case basis.
