Patrol Officers. 1) The normal schedule of work shall be 6-3, 6-3.
2) The normal work day shall be eight (8) hours per day as follows: 7:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. (First Shift) 3:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. (Second Shift) 11:00 P.M. to 7:00 A.M. (Third Shift)
3) For early shift officers, the normal work schedule shall be eight hours per day as follows:
Patrol Officers. Each non-probationary officer shall receive an annual uniform allowance of six hundred fifty ($650.00) dollars each year, which shall be paid directly to the officer with the first paycheck in January of each year.
Patrol Officers. (a) Patrol Officers shall advance from Step 1 to Step 2, Step 2 to Step 3, and Step 3 to Step 4 on the Patrol Officers’ Schedule on Appendix A with the successful completion of their first, second, third and fourth years of employment, respectively, provided Patrol Officers shall advance from Step 4 to Step 5 on the Patrol Officers’ Schedule following successful completion of eighteen (18) months of employment at Step 4. It is understood and agreed to by the parties that this provision shall not affect a Patrol Officer’s seniority.
(b) The effective date of any increase in the salary of a Patrol Officer due to step advancement shall be the pay period beginning immediately following the Patrol Officer’s anniversary date of hire.
(c) Employees who retire within one (1) year of the ratification of a successor collective bargaining agreement shall be entitled to any cost of living increases or step advances in the successor agreement.
Patrol Officers. Patrol Officers with less than one year of service on the department will be paid at Step 0 while completing the training academy and F.T.O. program. Upon successful completion of the academy and F.T.O. program, Patrol Officers will advance to Step 1. Except for advancement from Step 0 to Step 1, all step increases will be granted on employment anniversary dates for all employees. To be eligible for an increase from Step 1 to Step 2, an employee must have completed 2 full years on the department. Patrol officers are eligible for annual step increases up to the completion of their fifth (5) year of service on the Department. Subsequent step increases will occur upon completion of 10, 15 and 20 years of service on the Department. The advancement of each employee from one step to the next in the salary plan, for the period of April 1, 2014 through March 31, 2018, is detailed in this Appendix. Sergeants: On the Sergeant salary schedule, the base salary (Step 0) will be equal to the salary of Step 20 of the Patrol Officer salary schedule. All step increases will be granted on the anniversary date of the employee’s promotion. All employees will be required to have completed one (1) full year of service as a Sergeant in order to be eligible for a step increase. Sergeants are eligible for annual step increases up to the completion of their fifth (5th) year of service in rank. Subsequent step increases will occur upon completion of 10 and 12 years of service in rank. The advancement of each employee from one step to the next in the salary plan, for the period of April 1, 2014 through March 31, 2018, is detailed in this Appendix. Salary Schedule: Patrol:
Patrol Officers a. For purposes of this section, “Patrol Officer” is defined as an individual whose primary function is responding to dispatched calls for service. These officers are assigned to the Bureau of Field Operations, participate in the patrol draw, and attend a regularly scheduled lineup consistent with their start times.
b. The Department will establish the start and end times of available patrol shifts prior to the patrol draw. It is understood that the Department shall not make any permanent changes to shift times except at the time of the patrol draw.
c. Patrol Officers shall maintain the same regular schedule for the length of the draw period, except as permitted in this section.
d. Up to three (3) times per year, the City may “flex” schedules by advancing the start and end times of Patrol Officers assigned to two power shifts with starting times after 12:00 pm, up to three (3) hours (for example: 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm) for a period of not less than fourteen (14) days and not more than sixty (60) days. However, no officer shall be flexed for more than one-hundred and twenty (120) days per year.
Patrol Officers. 32 The University may establish rules pertaining to employee dress, equipment, and 33 appearance and may require the wearing of particularized apparel, such as 34 uniforms. The standard issued uniform will be new or professionally laundered 35 and serviceable. 37 The University shall normally issue such required particularized apparel, to include 38 shoes, boots and protective vests for members of the Cornell University Police 39 Department and to exclude undergarments for all employees. Issued apparel shall 40 be replaced by the University as needed at the department's discretion.
Patrol Officers. The probationary period for patrol officers begins on the hire date and ends one year after the officer has completed the Field Training Program. Upon successful completion of the probationary period, the employee shall be considered a regular full-time employee.
Patrol Officers. All Police Officers appointed or presently serving in the positions above named shall receive the same compensation as set forth in the current annual salary set by contract and all such persons shall be appointed in accordance with the civil service provisions of the Third Class City Code. Patrol Officers. Seniority shall be the basis for the filling of open positions within the Patrol Division Platoon System. Positions will consist of a day off group and post assignment. • No less than twelve (12) positions will be available for selection in the First Platoon. • No less than twelve (12) positions will be available for selection in the Second Platoon. • No less than nine (9) positions will be available for selection in the Third Platoon.
Patrol Officers hired after July 1, 2009 and no later than July 1, 2019 shall receive an annual $1,000 weapons proficiency allowance for qualifying with all department-issued firearms.
