ON CALL RELIEF EMPLOYEES. If an on call relief employee obtains a route holder or permanent relief position, his or her seniority date shall be deemed retroactive to the first date of hire as an on call relief employee subject to the following:

As of July the Corporation agrees to hire one hundred (100) on call relief employees in locations to be recommended to the parties by the Transition Committee. As of September the Transition Committee shall make recommendations to the parties concerning the rules for the allocation of relief assignments. As soon as possible, but by no later than July the Corporation agrees to utilize on call relief employees to cover all types of leave recognized under the collective agreement for employees in the following major urban centres: Calgary, Charlottetown, Edmonton, Fredericton, Greater Toronto Area, Halifax, Hamilton, Kitchener, London, Moncton, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City, Regina, Saint Xxxx, Saskatoon, John’s, Vancouver, Victoria, Windsor, Winnipeg. The Corporation may, at its own discretion, cover absences in other postal installations,following consultation. Should the Corporation encounter staffing difficulties in certain locations, the parties agree to consult locally on solutions to the staffing difficulties. The collective agreement shall apply to on call relief employees, except for the following provisions: Articles (except and (except (except Appendix A and On call relief employees shall receive an annual boot allowance in the amount of one hundred eighty dollars ($180.00). APPENDIX HOURLY RATE OF PAY The Transition Committee shall, as quickly as possible, after the coming into force of the collective agreement, study the feasibility of the adoption of an hourly pay system. To this end, the Committee shall: first determine the amount of the employee’s annual pay that must be considered as vehicle expenses: the expenses shall be determined in accordance with paragraph then calculate the employee’s hourly rate based on the number of hours of work for the route and the annual pay, from which is subtracted the percentage that corresponds to the vehicle expenses; and analyze t...
