Overtime on a Regular Work Day. Employees who work overtime shall be compensated at a rate of 1.5 times the employees' regular hourly rate of pay. Except for Public Safety Officers or employees on approved alternate work schedules pursuant to 5.1.3 through 5.1.5, overtime shall be defined as more than seven and one-half hours in a day or thirty- seven and a half (37.5) hours in a week. Employees who work more than twelve (12) hours during any twenty-four (24) hour period shall be entitled to compensation at the rate of 2.0 times the employees' regular rate of pay for any time worked in excess of twelve (12) hours. Overtime must be approved in advance by the appropriate supervisor.

  • Payment for Working Overtime on a Holiday Where an employee is required to work authorized overtime in excess of his regularly scheduled hours on a paid holiday, such employee shall receive twice (2x) his regular straight time hourly rate for such authorized overtime.

  • Regular Work Week The regular work week shall be any five (5) consecutive days, Sunday through Saturday, for a total regular work week of forty (40) working hours, subject to the applicable premiums where provided for in this Agreement. Notwithstanding the above, employees may volunteer to work schedules that fall outside of the regular work week of Sunday through Saturday and may do so, upon approval by the Company, and with no penalty cost to the Company, but with applicable premiums as provided for in this Agreement.

  • Overtime Meal Allowance ‌ An employee who works two and one-half hours of overtime immediately before or following his/her scheduled hours of work shall receive a meal allowance of seven dollars. One-half hour with pay shall be allowed the employee in order that he/she may take a meal break either at or adjacent to his/her place of work.
