Overtime on a Regular Work Day. Employees who work overtime shall be compensated at a rate of 1.5 times the employees' regular hourly rate of pay. Except for Public Safety Officers or employees on approved alternate work schedules pursuant to 5.1.3 through 5.1.5, overtime shall be defined as more than seven and one-half hours in a day or thirty- seven and a half (37.5) hours in a week. Employees who work more than twelve (12) hours during any twenty-four (24) hour period shall be entitled to compensation at the rate of 2.0 times the employees' regular rate of pay for any time worked in excess of twelve (12) hours. Overtime must be approved in advance by the appropriate supervisor.
Overtime on a Regular Work Day. Periods of authorized overtime work of less than one- half (½) hour duration shall be accumulated and paid at the appropriate rates. Payment shall be made at one and one-half (1 ½) times the employee’s hourly rate for the first four (4) hours, or portion thereof, and at double time for all overtime hours worked above four (4) hours on that day.
