Package Center Seniority. (a) Center Seniority. There shall be separate seniority lists for the inside employees of each package center and separate seniority lists for the outside employees of each package center. There shall be a separate seniority list for the package center clerical employees by area (as defined below), a separate seniority list for package center Porters by area (as defined below) excluding Porters in the 43rd Street and Island City buildings, and a separate seniority list for package center Car Washers by area (as defined below) excluding Car Washers in the 00xx Xxxxxx and Island City buildings.

  • Super Seniority In the event of a layoff, the Plant Chairperson, Committeepersons and Stewards shall have super seniority.

  • Company Seniority An employee's total accumulated time of employment with the Company which has not been interrupted by a continuous period in excess of six (6) months.

  • Departmental Seniority Departmental seniority is defined as the length of employment within the employee’s current department. Department seniority shall accrue as of the first day of employment or transfer into a new department.

  • Transfers and Seniority Outside Bargaining Unit No employee shall be transferred to a position outside the bargaining unit without the employee's consent. If an employee is transferred to a position outside of the bargaining unit, the employee shall retain seniority acquired at the date of leaving the unit, but will not accumulate any further seniority. If such an employee later returns to the bargaining unit, the employee shall be placed in a job consistent with the employee's seniority. Such return shall not result in the layoff or bumping of an employee holding greater seniority.

  • Classification Seniority Classification Seniority" is defined as the length of service in a specific job classification within the bargaining unit, beginning with the date an employee starts to serve a probationary appointment. Classification Seniority shall be interrupted only by separation because of resignation, discharge for just cause, failure to return upon expiration of a leave of absence, failure to respond to a recall from layoff, or retirement.

  • Transfer and Seniority Outside Bargaining Unit No employee shall be transferred to a position outside the bargaining unit without his consent. If an employee is transferred to a position outside of the bargaining unit, he shall retain his seniority accumulated up to the date of leaving the unit, but will not accumulate any further seniority. If such an employee returns to the bargaining unit within twelve (12) months, he shall be placed in a job consistent with his seniority. Such return shall not result in the layoff or bumping of an employee holding greater seniority.

  • Preferential Seniority The Local Union Plant Chairperson and three Shop Stewards shall have top Plant-wide seniority in case of layoff and shall be retained by the Company on work they are willing and able to perform. The Union shall supply a list to the Company with their names and positions.

  • Seniority Frozen When an Agency intends to initiate a layoff, the Agency will notify the Union in writing that all seniority will be frozen from the date of notice for a period not to exceed three (3) months. However, during the period when seniority is frozen, the employee will continue to accumulate time towards seniority for purposes of future computations. The three (3) month freeze may be extended by mutual written agreement of the Union and the Agency.

  • Seniority Roster The District shall maintain an updated seniority roster, indicating employee's class seniority and hire date seniority. Such rosters shall be available to CSEA.

  • Seniority Unit Layoff List Selection shall next be made from the Seniority Unit Layoff List unless the vacancy is being filled by an employee with more classification seniority who has received notice of permanent layoff.
