PARENT CONTRACT. Under this Contract, the New York City Cyclones ("Cyclones") and the Parent signing below agree that the Parent's child (as per registration) will play for the Cyclones and that the child and family of the child will abide by the Cyclones' rules. Once the child has signed to play for the Cyclones, the child is subject to the NYSAHA player movement rules and will need a release from the Cyclones to play for any other NYSAHA association. Hockey is a team sport. Your child is joining the Cyclones to learn how to play better hockey by developing both personal skills and team playing skills. By joining a Cyclones travel team, both you and your child are making a significant commitment to hockey that is being taught and played at a very competitive level. The Cyclones philosophy is fair but not equal playing time. The Cyclones want to help the players learn to be the best hockey players they can be, both individually and as a team player. We want to teach the players how to help their team win, but also how to learn from their mistakes when the team loses. In doing so, players and their families must be serious in their commitment to hockey and to the team. For this to work, you and your child need to work with the coaches, teammates and their families; everyone needs to work together and not against each other. This may seem obvious, but in practice it frequently is forgotten or ignored by some participants and families. These are the rules that families must follow in order to stay in good standing with the Cyclones:
