Parent/Student Complaints. Any complaint by a parent or student, which has the potential to be used in a disciplinary matter, will be reduced to writing and promptly shared with the teacher. Any complaint not reduced to writing and called promptly to the attention of the teacher will not be used in any disciplinary matter concerning the teacher.
Parent/Student Complaints. No disciplinary action shall be initiated against a teacher as a result of a parent or student complaint until the teacher has been notified of the complaint and an investigation has taken place. Notification shall take place through an administrative-teacher conference. The teacher may request the presence of a representative of the Association at such a conference.
Parent/Student Complaints. Parental and/or student complaints which are directed toward a teacher shall be promptly called to the teacher’s attention, and the teacher shall be afforded an opportunity to reply to the same and no derogatory complaint, letter or report shall be placed in the teacher’s file without the teacher’s knowledge and without an opportunity to make a written statement of defense to be attached thereto and an opportunity to confront the complainants.
Parent/Student Complaints. No action against an educator shall be taken on the basis of a complaint by a parent or student unless substantive investigation has been conducted by the administration and the complaint has been found to be valid.
Parent/Student Complaints. If the administration receives a complaint from a parent, student or a community member which could affect a bargaining unit member’s employment, the administration will inform the bargaining unit member in a timely fashion. The administration will encourage the complainant to discuss the matter with the bargaining unit member involved, except in cases where the alleged offense may lead to criminal charges against the bargaining unit member.
Parent/Student Complaints. Procedures When an administrator receives a complaint from a parent about a teacher, the administrator shall normally notify the teacher of the complaint and encourage the parent to contact the teacher to resolve the complaint. In the event the Administration believes that actions alleged in the complaint could compromise the safety or wellbeing of students, or could violate law or policy, the Administration may choose to initiate an immediate investigation. No disciplinary action shall be taken without identifying the complainant unless there is independent corroborating evidence or a judicial or quasi-judicial determination of inappropriate actions.
Parent/Student Complaints. Any written complaint by a parent of a student directed toward the teacher shall be brought to the attention of the teacher by the Administration within (5) working days. If a parent – teacher conference or parent-teacher-administrator conference does not resolve the complaint and the parent appeals the matter to the Board, the employee shall be allowed to appear before the Board.
Parent/Student Complaints. Teachers shall be entitled to receive a copy of any formal complaint lodged with the Administration/Board concerning the teacher as soon as particulars are known. Formal complaints will be in writing and will include the name of the complainant. Informal complaints shall be made known to the teacher if, in the Superintendent’s opinion, such knowledge is needed to resolve any problems.
Parent/Student Complaints. Any complaints by a parent or student directed toward a unit employee will be called to the employee’s attention within five (5) days and, whenever possible, the identity of the complainant will be indicated. If the complaint is to become part of the employee’s personnel file, the identity of the complainant will be revealed. The employee has the right to attach a written statement of his/her own concerning the complaint. This statement will accompany the complaint in the personnel file.
Parent/Student Complaints. Any complaint by a parent or a student directed toward a teacher deemed by the administrator receiving the same as consequently evaluative shall be reported to the teacher. Except as unusual circumstances shall otherwise require, no final action shall be taken against the teacher until a parent-teacher or teacher-administrator conference on the problem has been held. The teacher shall be given notice of such meeting as soon as practical.
