PAY FOR TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENTS. .01 An employee temporarily assigned to work in the classification carrying a higher rate of pay than the classification from which he was assigned shall receive such higher rate of pay provided the time spent in the new classification is one hour or more in which event the higher pay shall be from the first hour.

PAY FOR TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENTS. The Company will continue to recognize the principle of paying an employee who is temporarily assigned to work in an occupation carrying a higher rate of pay than the occupation from which he was assigned the higher rate immediately. In addition, where an employee spends at least 4 hours working in an occupation carrying a higher rate of pay than his normal occupation, he shall be paid for his whole shift at a rate not less than that higher rate. Where an employee is assigned to temporary work in an occupation carrying a lower rate of pay than his normal occupation, he will be paid the rate he would otherwise have received in his normal occupation up to a maximum of ten working days.
PAY FOR TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENTS. If an officer is temporarily assigned to a higher rank or position of a higher pay level as evidenced by an approved OAR for one (1) full pay period, the officer shall be paid the higher rate beginning on the first day of the first full pay period during which he has been temporarily reassigned and for each successive day of work in such assignment thereafter. For the purposes of this section, "full pay period" means from the first to the fifteenth or sixteenth to the thirtieth (or other last day) of the month. Such pay shall be at the higher rate for vacation days taken during the period of the temporary assignment. Except in emergency situations, no temporary assignment, where a higher pay level my be appropriate, will be allowed without a previously approved OAR.

  • Pay on Temporary Assignment An employee temporarily assigned by the Employer to a position with a rate of pay lower than her regular rate of pay shall maintain her regular rate of pay.

  • Temporary Assignments When an employee is assigned temporarily by his/her appointing authority to a job for which he/she is qualified in a higher pay grade for a period of five (5) days or his/her regular workweek, whichever is less, the employee shall be paid retroactively from the initial date of the temporary transfer for the duration of the temporary assignment. The employee shall be paid as if he/she had been promoted during such assignment. In no event may an employee acquire any status in a higher classification as a result of his/her temporary assignment.   • Temporary Assignment 11.01 Employees shall perform any temporary work which the management directs with the understanding that when an employee is assigned to a job with a lesser rate of pay, he shall receive his regular rate of pay.

  • Shift Assignments When an opening occurs in a shift assignment in an appropriate work group at a location, preference shall be given to employees within the classification who possess the training, ability and any required special qualifications to perform the work required, on the basis of seniority. In the event that no employee desires a shift assignment, employees shall be selected in order of inverse seniority. This provision shall not apply to necessary training assignments. This provision shall not in itself alter the practice of rotating shifts where such practice presently exists. No employee who has a regular shift assignment on the effective date of the Agreement shall be involuntarily displaced from such shift assignment as a result of this Article.

  • Work Assignments Section 1. The Company shall determine whether to staff a position or fill a vacancy and the method or combination of methods it shall use for such purposes. In making this determination, the Company shall first give consideration to qualified laid off employees with applications on file in accordance with Article 14 Section 7 of this Agreement and then internal candidates prior to off-street applicants. All vacancies within the Bargaining Unit shall be posted (manually or electronically) in locations where Bargaining Unit employees regularly work. The posting shall include the title, wage range, and sufficient information regarding requirements and duties to adequately describe the vacancy. The vacancy shall remain posted for seven (7) calendar days which shall be spread between two (2) workweeks.

  • Training Assignments The Supervisor or designee may establish written training assignments to enable an employee to gain the additional experience and training required for the job for a period of time not to exceed two years. At the completion of the training assignment, the employee’s pay will be set no less than the entry rate of pay for the occupational pay band.

  • Shift Assignment Should the University elect to establish a shift on any other schedule than the regular day shift (Monday through Friday) or to assign employees to work on any such shift, the employee(s) with the most seniority in the classification affected or to be assigned on such shift shall have preference in moving to such shift. If an insufficient number of employees in the classification elect to move to such shift, then the employee(s) with the least seniority in the classification shall be assigned to such shift. If positions or shifts are reduced or eliminated or movement of personnel to other shifts is required, then the seniority of the affected employee will prevail in the selection of shift, provided the affected employee can do the required work. Such shift preference is only applicable within the employee's classification.

  • Temporary Reassignment Notwithstanding the above, the Appointing Authority may temporarily reassign any employee to another work area and/or shift for five (5) consecutive months or less. With mutual agreement between the Local and the Appointing Authority, such reassignment may extend up to twelve (12) months. At the end of the reassignment, the reassigned employee shall return to his/her former position, unless the position has been abolished, in which case the employee shall return to his/her former work area and shift.

  • Employees on Long Term Supply Assignments Employees completing long term supply assignments may only access sick leave and short term disability leave in the fiscal year in which the allocation was provided. Any remaining allocation may be used in subsequent long term supply assignments, provided these occur within the same fiscal year. Employees employed in a Long Term Supply Assignment which is less than the ordinary period of employment for the position shall have their sick leave and short term disability allocations pro-rated accordingly. Where the length of the long term supply assignment is not known in advance, a projected length must be determined at the start of the assignment in order for the appropriate allocation of sick leave/short term disability leave to occur. If a change is made to the length of the assignment, an adjustment will be made to the allocation and applied retroactively.

  • A ssignment Contractor shall not assign any interest in this Agreement and shall not transfer any interest in the same without the prior written consent of County except that claims for money due or to become due Contractor from County under this Agreement may be assigned by Contractor to a bank, trust company, or other financial institution without such approval. Written notice of any such transfer shall be furnished promptly to County. Any attempt at assignment of rights under this Agreement except for those specifically consented to by both parties or as stated above shall be void.
