Common use of PAYOUT FOR UNUSED SICK LEAVE ON TERMINATION Clause in Contracts

PAYOUT FOR UNUSED SICK LEAVE ON TERMINATION. In the event an Employee retires or terminates his employment, he shall receive payment equal to 25% of the value of his accumulated unused sick leave. To qualify for this payment, an Employee who terminates his employment must have completed his probationary period. This benefit does not apply to Employees who are dismissed for just cause. For the purpose in calculating the value of accumulated sick leave for payout, a 40 hour/week worker is deemed to work 8 hour days and a 35 hour/week worker is deemed to work 7 hour days.
