Personal Emergency Leave. In accordance with the Employment Standards Act, an employee is entitled to a leave of absence without pay for the following reasons: (a) Death, illness, injury or medical emergency of an immediate family member; or (b) An urgent matter that concerns an immediate family member. An employee is entitled to take a total of ten (10) days personal emergency leave in each calendar year.
