I. Upon request, an employee will be approved to use part or all of their personal holiday as provided for required by the Military Family Leave Act, RCW 49.7749.77 and in accordance with Article 18.14; Military Family Leave or
3. Any portion of a personal holiday that remains will be taken by the employee in one (1) absence, not to exceed the work shift on the day of the absence, subject to the request and approval Leave as described in Subsections 10.3 B, C, and D above.

Personal Holidays. An employee A nurse may select one (1) workday as a personal holiday during the calendar year if the employee nurse has been or is scheduled to be continuously employed by the state State for more than four (4) months.
A. An employee A nurse who is scheduled to work less than six (6) continuous months over a period covering two (2) calendar years will receive only one (1) personal holiday during this period.
B. The Employer will release the employee nurse from work on the day selected as the personal holiday, provided:
1. The employee nurse has given at least fourteen (14) calendar days’ ' written notice to the supervisor. However, the employee nurse and the supervisor may agree upon an earlier date, and
2. The number of employees nurses selecting a particular day off does not prevent the agency from providing continued public service.
C. Personal holidays must be taken during the calendar year or the entitlement to the day will lapse, except that the entitlement will carry over to the following year when an otherwise qualified employee nurse has requested a personal holiday and the request has been denied.
D. Agencies may establish qualifying policies for determining which of the requests for a particular date will or will not be granted when the number of requests for a personal holiday would impair operational necessity.
E. Part-time employees nurses who are employed during the month in which the personal holiday is taken will be compensated for the personal holiday in an amount proportionate to the time in pay status during the month to that required for full-time employment.
F. A personal holiday for full-time employees nurses will be equivalent to their work shift on the day selected for personal holiday absence.
G. Part or all of a personal holiday may be donated as shared leave, in accordance with Article 13, Shared LeaveWAC 000-00-000. Any portion of a personal holiday that remains or is returned to the employee, nurse will be taken in one (1) absence, not to exceed the work shift on the day of the absence, subject to the request and approval as described above in Subsections 10.3 B, C, and D above.D.

Personal Holidays. An employee may select one There shall be five (15) workday holidays for seniority employees known as a personal holiday during the calendar year if the employee has been or is scheduled to holidays. The eligibility for personal holidays will be continuously employed by the state for more than four as follows: Seniority date plus twelve (412) months.
A. An employee who is scheduled to work less than six (6) continuous months over a period covering two (2) calendar years will receive only – one (1) personal holiday. Employees presently in progression will continue in progression. No personal holiday may be taken after the personal holiday, provided:

If any such employees wish to utilize the unused PHs between December 26 and December 31, those PHs will lapsebe paid at time of use. Personal Holidays. An employee Scheduling of Personal Holidays (PH): Employees receive their allotted PH(s) on January 1st of each year. Personal Holidays may select be scheduled through May 31st of the current calendar year. Once all vacation for the upcoming vacation year is scheduled and approved for all employees, then Personal Holidays may be scheduled through the rest of the year (June 1 – December 31) The Scheduling of Personal Holidays (PH) section shall be modified as follows: Employees may take their annual personal holiday(s) in either full day or half-day increments. The following conditions must be satisfied in order to use a personal holiday under this section. • The two (2) Personal Holidays are to be scheduled each year on an individual basis and will normally be approved one (1) workday as week in advance. In the event of an emergency, a personal holiday during the calendar year if the employee has been or is scheduled to request must be continuously employed by the state for more than four (4) months.
A.
