Plant Wide Bids to Other Departments. If the opening is not filled by the above, then the Company may fill the open position through a plant wide job bid posting, listing the job classification, shift and department for a period of 48 hours minimum. Any seniority employee who has one or more years’ total seniority may bid from one department to another by signing the plant wide bid sheet. Employees who are absent because of illness, personal reasons, or on vacation and who will have returned by the time the job is filled, may enter their name to the Human Resources Department, provided that prior to the posting of the plant wide bid sheet they had notified the Human Resources Department of their desire to bid on such a job should it be opened. Such pre-bid notices shall be in writing, and will not be valid for more than the amount of time employee is off from the date of filing with the Human Resources Department. The Company may limit such plant wide moves for an employee to one (1) in a period of eighteen (18) months. Effective September 29, 2007, under circumstances where an employee’s existing department is being eliminated for whatever reason, the eighteen (18) month limit will be given appropriate consideration and will be waived by the Company. To receive consideration for an opening, employees must sign the plant wide bid sheet. Employees may not sign plant wide bid sheets for open jobs within their department. For the purpose of limitation in this Section, eighteen (18) month period shall start with the date of acceptance of the job by the employee.
