Preparation/Conference Time. A. Each secondary school employee (6-12) shall be scheduled for at least one (1) preparation/conference period or its equivalent per day. Preparation/conference time shall be scheduled during the normal school day and is in addition to the fifteen (15) minutes before the student tardy bell in the morning and ten (10) minutes after the student dismissal bell. Preparation/conference time shall not be scheduled during the employee’s normal lunch period.

Preparation/Conference Time. 1. Elementary teachers shall be scheduled periods of continuous uninterrupted time to be used for general classroom preparation and/or conferencing with patrons, students or other officials. This time shall be within the regular student day and shall not be regularly assigned or contracted to other duties except for covering classes as provided under Number 6 of this section. Elementary teachers shall have a weekly average of forty-two (42) minutes per day. When specialists are absent, the district will make attempts to ensure employee preparation time is maintained. Should an employee lose planning time, the impacted employee shall receive payment equal to his/her per-diem rate of pay for time lost.

MBUs assigned to Grades PreK through Grade 5 shall have an average minimum of two hundred (200) minutes per week of preparation and conference time during the student day. Reasonable effort will be made to equitably distribute assigned preparation and conference time throughout the week.

  • SPECIAL CONFERENCES A. Special conferences for important matters will be arranged between the Union President and the Employer or its designated representative upon the request of either party. Such meetings shall be between at least two representatives of the Union and two representatives of management. Arrangements for such special conferences shall be made in advance and an agenda of the matters to be taken up at the meeting shall be presented at the time the conference is requested.
