The Contractor shall allow up to three weeks for the acceptance of the design package. The Contractor shall co-operate with the Employer as required during this period. The Contractor shall after refurbishment of lifts submit detailed design information of the lifts and associated drawings containing the following but not limited to: Drawings indicating the detail of the modifications done to the lifts Details of the design measures to ensure energy efficiency. Detail of the corrosion protection systems used. Confirmation that the design of the works complies with the National Building regulations. Confirmation that the existing equipment in the building can be transported in the lift. Submits an Operation and Maintenance Manual, where applicable; Details of the design measures to prevent ingress of water into the new lift shaft. Other requirements of the Contractor’s Work The language of all documentation is in English. The Contractor includes the Employer’s drawing number in the drawing title block. This requirement only applies to design drawings developed by the Contractor and its Subcontractors. Drawing numbers are assigned by the Employer as drawings are developed.

Procedure for submission and acceptance of Contractor’s design i. Detail of Contractor’s design which is to be submitted to the Project Manager for his acceptance: All statements in this works information requiring the Contractor to submit documents, drawings or tests to the Project Manager for acceptance must be in sufficient detail for the Project Manager to make a decision without requiring further investigation.
ii. Design stage requirements for co-operation with Others on a multi-party project The Contractor must note that they will be working on site with Others. The Contractor will be required to work with Others to ensure that interfaces are sufficiently covered to ensure safe and reliable operation of the unit.

The designs submitted are complete packages with all elements (drawings, calculations) included. The Employer reserves the right to review any design in the detail that is deemed necessary. The Employer accepts no accountability and liability due to the review of any designs or if any acceptance is given. The Contractor is the Design Authority. The Contractor needs to supply the Employer with a design to install the HFPSs. This must include the submission of the following design deliverables for review and acceptance.
