Professional Conferences, Seminars and Workshops. 1. Funds for professional growth through participation of Teachers in approved conferences, seminars and workshops shall be allocated by the Board in the following amounts for the sole use of Teachers: Year Amount 2005-2006 $60,000 2006-2007 $65,000 2007-2008 $70,000 The funds shall be allocated on a per capita basis by the school or department which serves as the staff member's home base. Building principals or department supervisors shall recommend approval of conference/seminar/workshop attendance and the amount of funds to be considered. Requests shall be submitted to the Office of Human Resources for further consideration and approval. Distribution of the school's or department's allotment of available funds shall be made at that level. Building Principals/District Supervisors shall approve Conference/Seminar/ Workshop attendance and the amount of funds to be considered. Distribution of funds shall be made by the Office of Human Resources.

Professional Conferences, Seminars and Workshops. Upon prior approval of the superintendent, consistent with board policy, the board shall reimburse teachers for the cost of attending conferences, seminars and workshops, including registration fees, travel by own automobile at the current IRS rate per mile plus tolls, or by public transportation, meals up to seventy-eight ($78)dollars per day, and lodging up to two hundred and thirty four ($234) dollars per day. All expenses must be supported by receipts submitted to the board. An employee who has been approved to attend a conference, seminar, or workshop, may request an advance from the board to cover up to seventy-five (75%) percent of anticipated expense.

  • Professional Conferences Professional conferences are those conferences sponsored by educational organizations, institutions of higher learning, and government and industry concerning teaching, learning and educational research. When a full-time or part-time faculty member’s attendance at a professional conference conflicts with his/her regular assignment, the faculty member must submit a request for attendance to the appropriate Xxxx, Director, or Supervisor. If granted, the attendance at the conference will be considered leave with pay, and a follow-up report of the conference shall be submitted to the appropriate Supervisor.

  • Attendance at Conferences and Conventions (a) The parties to this Agreement recognize that attendance or participation at conferences, conventions, symposia, workshops and other gatherings of a similar nature contributes to the maintenance of high professional standards.

  • Pre-Job Conferences a) The Employer will notify the Union that a project has been awarded to the Employer following the award.
