E. The Board shall provide to the Association, a total of twelve days per school year of released time for the handling of Association business as deemed necessary by the Association president. It is further understood that the Board and the Association shall use restraint in subpoenaing witnesses for testimony during work hours.
D. At the beginning of every school year, the Association shall be credited with a total of three (3) days to be used by teachers who are officers or agents of the Association. No more may than two (2) teachers will be granted with approval Association leave on any given day. The Association agrees to notify the Superintendent at least three (3) days in advance of taking such leave, and, furthermore, the Association agrees to reimburse the District for the cost of the superintendentsubstitute.

PROFESSIONAL, PERSONAL AND ASSOCIATION LEAVE. A. Each Leave of absence, with pay, not chargeable against the teacher, upon recommendation of the building principal, may ’s sick and accumulated leave bank shall be granted for the following reasons.
1. Approved visitation at other schools or for attending educational conferences or other professional development activities. Formal application and approval shall be made in triplicate: one (1) professional visiting day per yearcopy for the superintendent, one (1) for the principal, and one (1) for the teacher. Immediate family shall, for this benefit, mean spouse, parents, parents-in-law, brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandchildren or children of the school to employee. The Board shall grant a total of twenty-five (25) teacher leave days per year to the Association without loss of time or pay to attend approved Association grievances, arbitrations, labor disputes other than contractual violations and meetings. The fifth day Association shall not be used in conjunction with other personal days. These days will not be used reimburse the last day before or Board for the first day after Thanksgiving, Christmas, spring break, Memorial Day, or on the first day or the last day salary of the school year. The administration shall consider exceptions to the latter and shall not unreasonably deny a request. Association functions will be an exception to the first or last day of the school yearsubstitute teachers.

1. Actual railroad, bus or plane fare, private car expense at the rate of 40 cents per mile.
2. Meals not to exceed: Breakfast - $5.00; Lunch - $8.00; Dinner - $15.00 and tax - plus up to 15% for gratuity.
3. Lodging not to exceed $50.00 per person per day, double occupancy, $80.00 per person per day, single occupancy. Such costs may be exceeded upon prior approval of the Superintendent.
4. Registration fees for conference or clinic will be fully reimbursed to all teachers attending such clinics.
5. An expense sheet with receipts attached must be submitted to the Central Office before reimbursement for any of the above expenses will be authorized.
6. If an Employee is required to report for duty in any location outside of the city limits of Mancelona, the mileage for reimbursement will be the lesser of round trip mileage from the Employee’s worksite or the Employee’s home. In the event that the school offers transportation to and from the location, no mileage reimbursements will be paid to Employees who elect to transport themselves.
