Reading Endorsement. Teachers who obtain their reading endorsement after July 1, 2006, 4 and teach an intensive reading course at the secondary level (middle and high school) shall be 5 eligible for a supplement of $500.00. Determination of an assignment in intensive reading shall be 6 made through course identification in accordance with the Florida Course Code Directory or by 7 the principal.

Reading Endorsement. Effective July 1, 2020, all instructional staff who 26 obtain a reading endorsement shall be eligible for a one-time incentive 27 payment of $500.00 if they obtain a reading endorsement in the same school 28 year that they are teaching an intensive reading course. To determine 29 eligibility, a review of records will be completed for all instructional staff who 30 obtain a reading endorsement. The review will include examination of roster 31 verification and course identification, aligned with the Florida Course Code 32 Directory. Incentive payments will occur on a first-come, first-served basis until 33 funds are no longer available. Each employee is only eligible to receive this 34 incentive once during the course of their employment with the District. In 35 accordance with FL DOE requirements, instructional staff must have received 36 a “highly effective” or “effective” rating on their most recent Final Performance 37 Evaluation in order to be eligible for this incentive.
Reading Endorsement. Candidates seeking an endorsement in Reading must hold a teaching license. Upon successful completion of the Reading Endorsement program of study and passing licensure exams required by the state of Ohio, the holder of an Ohio Intervention Specialist K-12 teaching credential may add an endorsement in Reading K-12.
