Recognition of Stewards and Grievance Committee. In order to provide an orderly and speedy procedure for the settling of grievances, the Employer acknowledges the rights and duties of the Union Grievance Committee and the Union Stewards. The Union agrees to limit the number of Stewards to a maximum of three (3). The Xxxxxxx may assist any employee which the Xxxxxxx represents, in preparing and presenting his/her grievance in accordance with the grievance procedure.

  • Grievance Committee The Hospital will recognize a Grievance Committee composed of the Chief Xxxxxxx and not more than (as set out in Local Provisions Appendix) employees selected by the Union who have completed their probationary period. A general representative of the Union may be present at any meeting of the Committee. The purpose of the Committee is to deal with complaints or grievances as set out in this Collective Agreement. The Union shall keep the Hospital notified in writing of the names of the members of the Grievance Committee appointed or selected under this Article as well as the effective date of their respective appointments. A Committee member shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent during their regular scheduled working hours in attending grievance meetings with the Hospital up to, but not including arbitration. The number of employees on the Grievance Committee shall be determined locally.

  • LABOR-MANAGEMENT RELATIONS COMMITTEE Section 1. The Employer and the Federation agree to the establishment of a Labor- Management Relations Committee. The purpose of this committee is to discuss any item of concern to either party and to improve communications between the Employer and the members of the bargaining unit. The committee will not, however, take the place of the grievance procedure or the collective bargaining process.

  • Composition of the Committee The Committee will comprise: - one (1) retiree appointed by OPSEU CAAT Academic - one (1) retiree appointed by OPSEU CAAT Support - one (1) retiree appointed by the Ontario Colleges Administrative Staff Association (OCASA) - three (3) management representatives appointed by the Council - one (1) resource person appointed by OPSEU - one (1) resource person appointed by OCASA - one (1) resource person appointed by the Council Additionally, when necessary, representatives of insurance carriers shall attend meetings to provide information but shall not act as resource persons for any of the parties.

  • Labour Relations Committee (a) The parties agree that the purpose of the Labour Relations Committee is to discuss, and, if possible, resolve, any matters of interest to the parties. To this end, the parties shall meet to exchange information and may hold discussions in an attempt to solve any problem related to working conditions.
