Presenting a Grievance. A grievance of any employee or a joint grievance of any group of employees shall be presented to the management in the following manner:
(a) The employee or one member of a group having a grievance may take the grievance up with the employee's Supervisor, or may ask the Supervisor to send for the Xxxxxxx / Committeeperson without undue delay.
(b) The Xxxxxxx / Committeeperson then takes the grievance up with the Supervisor or other designated representative of the management in the zone.
(c) If the Xxxxxxx / Committeeperson and the Supervisor or other designated representative of management are unable to dispose of the grievance, the Xxxxxxx / Committeeperson then refers it to the Plant Shop Committeeperson / District Representative for that zone. The Plant Shop Committeeperson / District Representative then takes the grievance up with the Area Manager or other designated management representative.
(d) If the grievance is not disposed of and the Xxxxxxx / Committeeperson wishes to pursue it further, the grievance may be reduced to writing and delivered to the Supervisor or other designated representative of management. (Any claim of discrimination when presented in writing, shall contain a full statement of the facts that give rise to the claim and the specific reason or reasons why the employee believes discrimination has occurred.)
(e) If the grievance is not disposed of, the Plant Shop Committeeperson / District Representative may take the written grievance up with the Area Manager or other designated management representative for the particular district.
(a) If the Plant Shop Committeeperson / District Representative and the Area Manager or other designated representative of management do not dispose of the grievance, then the Plant Shop Committeeperson / District Representative refers the written grievance to the Plant Shop Committee.
(b) The Plant Shop Committee then delivers a written copy of the grievance to the Plant Labour Relations Representative and thereafter takes the grievance up with the Plant Labour Relations Representative at a scheduled meeting.

(a) If an Employee feels he has a grievance, he shall discuss the grievance with the xxxxxxx of the department. Time for such discussion not to exceed one-half (½) hour.

Such meeting may be attended by a representative of the Council/International Union.
(b) The Union representative may meet at a place designated by the Employer on the Employer's property for at least one-half (½) hour immediately preceding a meeting with the representatives of the Employer for which a written request has been made.
(c) The Chairman of the bargaining unit or his representative shall ask for and be allowed time off his job without loss of time or pay, not to exceed four (4) hours per week, accumulative for the current month, to investigate a grievance he is to discuss with the Employer. The immediate supervisor will grant him permission within reason to leave his work for this purpose. Any additional time needed will be granted without pay.
(d) Step 4 of the grievance procedure may be bypassed if agreed to by both parties in writing.
