Recording and Accumulating Seniority. (a) Full-time employees will have their seniority recorded by the date of employment; (b) Part-time employees will have their seniority recorded by the date of employment . The calculation of hours worked shall be used to determine vacation and wage entitlement for all part-time employees; (c) Employees transferring from full-time to part-time or vice versa will maintain their seniority date; (d) This reciprocal transfer of seniority at the time of transfer does not connote any right for any employees in either the full-time position or the part-time position from which such employee is excluded; (e) When two (2) or more employees have the same seniority date, the last three numbers of the employee’s social insurance number shall be used to determine order with the lowest number being given the higher placement on the seniority list.

Recording and Accumulating Seniority. (a) All part-time employees in the service of Norview Lodge as of July 18, 1989 are credited with all hours worked prior to July 18, 1989, as previously established by the posted seniority lists. (b) The number of hours worked shall be converted to years of seniority based on the formula 2080 = one (1) year. If necessary, the hours worked are pro-rated to the next full year. (c) The employee's seniority credit is adjusted back from July 18, 1989 creating an artificial seniority date. (d) All part-time employees hired after July 18, 1989 would have their date of hire as their seniority date. (e) Full-time employees would have their seniority recorded as date of hire, either actual or artificial as established above. (f) Full or part-time employees transferring from full-time to part-time or vice versa will carry their date of hire as previously established for the purposes of recording seniority.

(b) Part-time employees will have their seniority recorded by hours worked from the date of employment or transfer into the part-time employment; (c) Part-time employees transferring to full-time will translate their seniority to an equivalent start date at the time of transfer (1650 hours = 1 year); (d) Full-time employees transferring to part-time will translate their seniority to an equivalent of hours at the time of transfer (1650 hours = 1 year); (e) Employees transferring from part-time to full-time and vice versa shall be covered by the collective agreement.

  • Sick Leave Accumulation (a) An employee is eligible to accumulate sick leave with full pay at the rate of 16 working hours for each 173 1/3 hours of service. (b) The maximum number of days of sick leave which may be awarded to an employee during any consecutive twenty (20) year period of service shall not exceed 3840 hours.

  • Transfer of Seniority The affected employer(s) and affected union(s) shall meet to determine any provisions for a transfer of seniority between bargaining units.

  • Accumulation of Seniority The seniority of an employee shall continue to accrue during an absence due to: (a) accident or illness; (b) maternity or parental leave; (c) any unpaid leave of absence of up to twelve (12) months; (d) any paid leave of absence provided for under this Agreement.

  • Role of Seniority in Layoffs (a) Both parties recognize that job security shall increase in proportion to length of service. Therefore, in the event of a layoff, employees shall be laid off in the reverse order of their bargaining-unit-wide seniority, providing that the retained employees are able to perform the available work. (b) The layoff process will occur in accordance with the Layoff/Recall Policy and Procedures. In no case may this policy override a right or condition outlined within this Collective Agreement.

  • Accrual of Seniority Seniority shall accrue during: (a) the first one hundred and nineteen (119) calendar days of sick leave including time on E.I. sick benefit or Income Replacement Benefits under the Automobile Insurance Act; (b) unpaid leaves of absence up to and including one hundred and sixty-eight (168) work hours in a calendar year; (c) hours absent while receiving benefits from the Worker’s Compensation Board; (d) temporary positions, out-of-scope of any union, with the Employer not to exceed twelve (12) months unless extended by mutual agreement with the union; (e) bereavement leave, pressing necessity leave, family leave, medical care leave; (f) jury duty and court service; (g) vacation leave; (h) leave for elected Public Office; (i) union leave; (j) all maternity/paternity/adoption/parental leave; (k) education leave up to twenty-four (24) months. (l) Long-term disability or Income Replacement Benefits under the Automobile Insurance Act. (m) If an Employee’s hours of work are reduced due to a disability, full-time Employees shall maintain their pre- disability accrual rate. Other than full-time Employees shall accrue seniority as follows: (i) For those who have worked one (1) year or more: Paid Hours in Previous 52 Weeks = Seniority Hours Per 52 Week of Leave (ii) For other than full-time Employees who have worked for less than one (1) year:

  • Unpaid Leave - Affecting Seniority and Benefits ‌ Any employee granted unpaid leave of absence totalling up to twenty (20) working days in any year shall continue to accumulate seniority and all benefits and shall return to her/his former job and increment step. If an unpaid leave of absence or an accumulation of unpaid leaves of absence exceeds twenty (20) working days in any year, the employee shall not accumulate benefits from the twenty-first (21st) day of the unpaid leave to the last day of the unpaid leave but shall accumulate benefits and receive credit for previously earned benefits upon expiration of the unpaid leave.

  • Vacation Accumulation (a) Vacations are not cumulative from year to year. (b) Notwithstanding the above, the Employer may grant a special request from an employee to carryover a maximum of five (5) vacation days into the next year. The employee shall specify in her request to the Employer the purpose for which she is seeking the carryover. (c) During the first year of employment, a full time employee with at least six
