Reference Points. Owner, through the Architect, shall provide in the Contract documents the engineering surveys necessary to establish pre-construction reference points for construction which in Architect's judgment are necessary to enable Contractor to proceed with the Work. Contractor shall be responsible for laying out the Work, shall protect and preserve the established reference points and property monuments, and shall make no changes or relocations without the prior written approval of Owner. Contractor shall report to Architect whenever any reference point or property monument is lost or destroyed or requires relocation because of necessary changes in grades or locations, and shall be responsible for the accurate replacement or relocation of such reference points or property monuments by professionally qualified personnel.

Reference Points. A. DESIGN/BUILDER shall be responsible for laying out the Construction and shall protect and preserve the reference points established by OWNER pursuant to paragraph 8.01.A.6.e and shall make no changes or relocations without the prior written approval of OWNER. Reference Points. 4.3.1 Unless otherwise provided in the Contract Documents, Contractor shall lay out its Work from base lines and benchmarks established by the County and shall be responsible for all measurements in connection therewith. 4.3.2 Unless otherwise provided in the Contracts Documents, the County will furnish upon request by the Contractor, all location and limit marks reasonably necessary for the execution of the Work. Bench marks will also be established by the County at pertinent points for control of elevations and for grades unless otherwise provided in the Contract Documents. 4.3.3 The Contractor shall, at its own expense, furnish all stakes, templates, patterns, platforms, equipment, and labor that may be required in setting and cutting, or laying out any part of the Work. After base lines and bench marks for the Work have been provided by the County, the Contractor shall be held responsible for the proper execution of the Work to such lines and grades and all stakes or other marks shall be preserved by the Contractor until removal is authorized. The County may require that the Work be suspended at any time when for any reason such marks cannot be properly followed. 4.3.4 The Contractor shall keep the County informed, a reasonable time in advance, of the times and places at which it intends to do Work in order that lines and grades may be furnished, that inspection may be provided and that necessary measurements for the record may be made with the minimum of inconvenience to the County or of delay to the Contractor. 4.3.5 The Contractor shall report to the County whenever any reference point is lost or destroyed, or requires relocation because of changes in grades or locations. The Contractor shall replace and accurately relocate all reference points so lost, destroyed or moved.

Reference Points. The Contractor shall locate and reference the project survey control network and establish bench marks at appropriate intervals along the line of the project for use by the Contractor in establishing horizontal and vertical controls necessary for the construction. If the Contractor or subcontractor destroys these locations, the Contractor shall re-establish these points. The Contractor's stakeout work shall be included in the contract unit price for the various items of work to which it is incidental.

Reference Points. Contractor shall confirm engineering surveys establishing reference points for construction, which in Contractor’s judgment are necessary to enable Contractor to perform the Work. Contractor shall be responsible for laying out the Work and shall protect and preserve such established reference points. Any changes to the established reference points shall require Contractor to update all Submittals (including those previously submitted) reflecting the new reference points. Such updating shall be undertaken promptly, consistent with Professional Standards, and without delaying Work that will be based on such updating. Contractor shall provide Notice to Owner whenever any reference point is lost or destroyed or requires relocation and shall be responsible for the accurate replacement or relocation of such reference points by professionally qualified Personnel.
