Regular Faculty Members. (a) A regular faculty member who is unable to perform faculty duties for a period of more than two (2) weeks for reasons described in Section 14.1.3 will be permitted to take an extended medical leave. Faculty members must notify the academic deans’ office when they become aware of the need for an extended medical leave, and must provide written medical verification of the reason for the leave. The Xxxxxxx or designee must approve all extended medical leaves.
(b) Extended medical leave may be used in the form of reduced hours when medically necessary. Extended medical leave will continue for the period of incapacity, or until the faculty member has used all available paid medical leave, whichever period is shorter.
(c) Regular faculty members are entitled to a total of one hundred eighty (180) calendar days of medical leave in a contract year. In addition, should a period of incapacity for the same qualifying event bridge two (2) contract years, the total paid medical leave taken for that qualifying event shall not exceed a total of one hundred eighty (180) calendar days.
(d) Before resuming normal duties following a period of extended medical leave, the College may require a certificate of ability to return to normal duties.
Regular Faculty Members. (i) For each year of service to the Employer, a regular faculty member is entitled to one (1) increment on the salary scale until the maximum is attained. It is understood that a year's service is equivalent to 1.0 FTE (see Appendix I) worked (i.e. 1.000 increment credit) and at least one (1) calendar year since the start of service or date of last increment. An increment will be effective on the first day of the pay period following the date on which the year's service is reached.
(ii) Any auxiliary hours worked by term or regular faculty members shall be recognized for incremental purposes.
(iii) Effective October 1, 1989, a faculty member who has term seniority in accordance with this Agreement who is appointed to a regular appointment shall have their first increment adjustment as a regular faculty member based on accrued increment hours accumulated as a term faculty member and service as a regular faculty member. Thereafter, the faculty member's incremental progression shall be applied in accordance with the provisions of Article 24.5(d)(1)(i) and (ii).
Regular Faculty Members.
5.2.1 Full-time regular faculty members shall be paid an annual salary determined in accordance with the annual rates in Appendix I, (Salary Schedule).
5.2.2 Part-time regular faculty members shall be paid an annual salary determined in accordance with the annual rates in Appendix I, (Salary Schedules) on a pro-rated basis.
5.2.3 Regular faculty members employed for additional duty concurrent with their regular appointment shall be paid at the same step as their current step on Appendix I, (Salary Schedules).
Regular Faculty Members. A regular faculty member is a person who is employed in a regular position for more than 60% workload and who has been declared a first-year contract, a second-year contract, a third and fourth year contract, or a tenured employee by the Los Xxxx Board of Trustees.
