Remuneration for a Saturday or a Sunday during the Christmas holiday periods. An employee who works on a Saturday or a Sunday during the Christmas holiday period will be paid his applicable wage rate increased by fifty percent (50%) of his regular salary. The provisions of this clause apply for the following days: 1994: December 24, 25, December 31, January 1 1995: December 24, 31 ARTICLE 23 SOCIAL LEAVES 23.01 All regular employees are entitled to the following leaves, without loss of regular salary, in accordance with the provisions of the following clauses: a) In the event of the death of his spouse, child, or spouse's child, an employee is entitled to a paid bereavement leave of five (5) working days. b) In the event of the death of his mother, father, sister, brother, spouse's mother, spouse's father, spouse's sister, spouse's brother, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, father-in-law, mother-in-law, an employee is entitled to a paid bereavement leave of three (3) working days. In the event of the death of a member of his family residing with the employee, or of a child, or of a spouse's child not residing with the employee, an employee is entitled to a paid bereavement leave of three (3) working days. c) In the event of the death of the grandparents or grandchildren, an employee is entitled to two (2) consecutive calendar days. d) In the event of the death of the daughter-in-law and son-in-law, an employee is entitled to one (1) working day. e) In the event of the death of any other member of the family, an employee is entitled to one (l) paid day of bereavement leave, provided he attends the funeral. f) Should the death occur in the employee's country of origin, he shall not lose the leave if he provides proof he must participate in the traditional manifestations of condolences following the death. g) An employee wishing to attend the funeral of a fellow-worker, must be paid a leave of four (4) hours, but the number of employees who attend must not be greater than six (6). h) When leave is granted, it must be calculated from the date of the death to that of the funeral, and only working days will be remunerated. i) In the event of the death of the spouse, child, spouse's child, father, mother, brother, sister, spouse's father, spouse's mother, spouse's brother, spouse's sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, father-in-law, mother- in-law, it is also permissible for an employee to add to the above- mentioned period an unpaid leave not to exceed fifteen (15) working days, and/or accumulated days of vacation, and/or overtime accumula...

  • Holidays Falling on Saturday or Sunday ‌ For an employee whose workweek is from Monday to Friday, and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement; when a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies to the Monday), shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.

  • Holiday Falling on Saturday or Sunday For an employee whose normal workweek is from Monday to Friday and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on another day, the following Monday will be deemed to be the holiday. When a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on another day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies), will be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.

  • Holidays on Saturday or Sunday When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding workday not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday. When a holiday falls on Sunday, the following workday not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday.

  • Public Holidays falling within Annual Leave (a) If a Public Holiday, as prescribed in this Agreement, falls within an Employee’s annual leave the Public Holiday does not constitute part of the Employee’s annual leave and will be paid as ordinary hours.

  • Holiday Coinciding with a Day of Vacation Where an employee is on vacation leave and a day of paid holiday falls within that period, the paid holiday shall not count as a day of vacation.

  • HOLIDAYS THAT FALL ON A SATURDAY For those employees assigned to a work week of Monday through Friday, and in the event a legal holiday falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be observed as a holiday; provided, however, that except where the Governor declares that such preceding Friday shall be a legal holiday, each department head shall make provision for the staffing of public offices under his/her jurisdiction on such preceding Friday so that said public offices may serve the public. Those employees who work on a Friday which is observed as a holiday in lieu of a holiday falling on Saturday shall be allowed a day off in lieu thereof as scheduled by the appointing officer in the current fiscal year.

  • Saturday and Sunday Work Week: Five (5) consecutive days per week, Sunday to Saturday. Work Day: Seven and one-half (7 1/2) hours per day. Any shift starting after 12:01 p.m. will receive a shift premium in accordance with Article 13.01 ii).

  • Saturday and Sunday Work (a) Where an employee is rostered to work ordinary hours between midnight Friday and midnight Saturday, the employee will be paid a loading of 50% of their ordinary rate of pay for the hours worked during this period. (b) Where an employee is rostered to work ordinary hours between midnight Saturday and midnight Sunday, all employees excluding home care employees will be paid a loading of 75% of their ordinary rate of pay for the hours worked during this period. (c) Casual employees will be paid in accordance with Clauses 35(a) and 35(b). The rates prescribed in Clauses 35(a) and 35(b) will be in substitution for and not cumulative upon the casual loading prescribed in Clause 12.5(b). (d) These extra rates will be in substitution for and not cumulative upon the shift penalties prescribed at Clause 38 Shiftwork.
