Requesting and Using Vacation. Every reasonable effort shall be made by the Appointing Authority to schedule employee vacations at a time agreeable to the employee insofar as adequate scheduling of the work unitpermits. If it is necessary to limit the number of employees in a work unit on vacation at the same time, the Appointing Authority shall determine whether conflicts over vacation periods shall be resolved among classes or within a particular class based upon staffing needs. In either event, vacation schedules shall be established on the basis of State Seniority within the employee's work unit. No vacation requests shall be denied solely because of the season of the year but shall be dependent upon meeting the staffing needs of the Agency. Vacation leave hours shall not be used during the payroll period in which the hours are accrued. A. Whenever practicable, employees shall submit written requests for vacation periods at least four (4) weeks in advance of their vacation to their supervisor, on forms furnished by the Appointing Authority. When advance written requests are impractical, employees shall secure the approval of their supervisor by telephone or other means at the earliest opportunity. Supervisors shall respond to vacation requests promptly and shall answer all written requests in writing no later than ten (10) calendar days after such request is made. B. Any request for a vacation of five (5) working days or more, including holidays, which is submitted five (5) calendar weeks or more in advance of the requested date of the start of the vacation shall be posted within five (5) calendar days in the work unit of the employee requesting the vacation for one (1) calendar week to allow other employees who may desire to request vacation for the same period to do so. All such requests must be submitted to the supervisor within the posting period. Conflicts involving vacation scheduling shall be resolved as provided above. Supervisors shall respond to the request(s) within one (1) calendar week of the end of the posting. No request may be submitted for a vacation period more than six (6) months in advance of the request. However, an employee may request vacation which commences more than six (6) months in advance if a posted request contains days which are within six (6) months. With the agreement of the Local Union, the Appointing Authority may establish deadlines for vacation requests within the six (6) months period.   • Income Protection, Trauma and Journey Insurance The Employer is, and will remain during the life of this Agreement, a participating employer in the Nominated Redundancy Fund and an employer member of IPT Agency Co Ltd. IPT Agency Co Ltd administers the insurance schemes covering income protection, trauma and journey accidents (Income Protection, Trauma and Journey Accidents Insurance Schemes).

  • Compliance with Consensus Policies and Temporary Policies Registry Operator shall comply with and implement all Consensus Policies and Temporary Policies found at <xxxx://xxx.xxxxx.xxx/general/consensus-­‐policies.htm>, as of the Effective Date and as may in the future be developed and adopted in accordance with the ICANN Bylaws, provided such future Consensus Polices and Temporary Policies are adopted in accordance with the procedure and relate to those topics and subject to those limitations set forth in Specification 1 attached hereto (“Specification 1”).

  • TRAINING AND RELATED MATTERS The parties recognise that in order to increase the efficiency and productivity of the company a significant commitment to structured training and skill development is required. Accordingly the parties commit themselves to: a) The parties to this Agreement recognise the importance of the apprenticeship system to the construction industry. It is agreed that every employer party to this Agreement who employs five (5) or more tradespersons in any one classification shall undertake to employ at least one (1) apprentice or make arrangements to host an apprentice from an agreed group apprenticeship scheme. Where an employer does not currently have an apprentice as per this provision, reasonable time shall be allowed to enable the employer to comply with this clause. Further, the parties are committed to a strong ratio of apprentices in the industry. Apprenticeship levels on a specific project may be discussed at the Project Pre-Commencement Conference (refer Clause 16). b) Providing employees with the opportunity to acquire additional skills within relevant career path structures through appropriate structured training based on nationally endorsed (i.e. Construction Training Australia endorsed) competency standards and curriculum; c) Actively encouraging employees to seek formal recognition of their skills (i.e. recognition of prior learning); and d) Using training providers accredited and acceptable to the parties. The CFMEU, MBAV and other employer associations are legitimately engaged in providing training to industry and it is hereby agreed that all parties will properly recognise and accept the validity of nationally accredited training as provided by the other parties. e) The parties will consult on the development of training programs which are consistent with the following: • Training provided will be consistent with the company’s business requirements, relevant to the work of the employees, consistent with the skills development of each employee and with applicable national competency standards. • Training may be taken either on or off the job with all reasonable steps being taken to conduct training in normal working hours. • If an approved training activity is undertaken during ordinary working hours, the employee/s concerned shall not suffer any loss of pay. • Approved training activities undertaken outside of ordinary hours will be paid at single time or will, at the employee’s option, be taken as time off in lieu of payment. Provided that the scheduling of time off must be consistent with the needs of the business and be by agreement with the company. • Training costs of courses approved by the company will be met by the company. • The company will not be asked to meet the costs of training undertaken by employees which was not approved by the company. • Leave of absence granted pursuant to this clause shall count as service for all purposes of the award and this agreement. • Accredited members of the union will be allowed up to 5 days per year, without loss of pay, to attend trade union educational courses conducted or approved by the union. (see appendix H) f) The parties to this Agreement recognise the importance of the role that Apprentices/Trainees fulfill within the industry and, more importantly, a role that they will fulfill as trades persons following the conclusion of the indentures. To this end the Victorian Building Industry Consultative Committee will investigate ways of enhancing employment prospects for Apprentice/Trainees. In addition it is agreed that, where appropriate, employers will use their best endeavours to employ Apprentices/Trainees in order to ensure appropriate trade persons levels for the future.

  • Vacation and Paid Time Off The Executive shall be entitled to vacation and paid time off in accordance with the standard policies of the Company for executives as in effect from time to time.

  • Volunteer Firefighting Leave Leave without pay will be granted when an employee who is a volunteer firefighter is called to duty to respond to a fire, natural disaster or medical emergency.

  • Vacation and Sick Leave During the Term, Executive shall be entitled to (a) sick leave in accordance with the Company’s policies applicable to similarly situated executive officers of the Company from time to time and (b) 4 weeks paid vacation each calendar year (up to 40 hours of which may be carried forward to a succeeding year).

  • Switching and Tagging Rules The Developer and Connecting Transmission Owner shall each provide the other Party a copy of its switching and tagging rules that are applicable to the other Party’s activities. Such switching and tagging rules shall be developed on a nondiscriminatory basis. The Parties shall comply with applicable switching and tagging rules, as amended from time to time, in obtaining clearances for work or for switching operations on equipment.

  • Vacation Requests Regular employees become eligible for paid vacation leave once they have completed six (6) months of continuous employment. Vacations requests must be submitted by no later than January 31st to be scheduled for the vacation calendar year of April 1 - March 31. Vacation time may be divided into blocks of one to two weeks in duration. Scheduling of vacation shall be in accordance with seniority within a classification. Where an employee chooses to split their vacation, they shall exercise seniority rights in the choice of the first vacation period. Seniority shall prevail in the choice of the second vacation period but only after all other first vacation periods have been selected. Remaining vacation periods will be scheduled in a fair and equitable manner amongst employees within a classification. The approved vacation schedule will be posted at the worksite on or before February 28th in each year. Employees will be limited to booking a maximum of two (2) consecutive weeks of vacation during prime vacation period (June 15 - September 15; and December 15 - January 5), unless further consecutive weeks would not interfere with the vacation preferences of less senior employees. The Employer will make every effort to accommodate requests for vacation of more than two (2) consecutive weeks outside of prime vacation periods. Employees failing to exercise their right to request vacation within the vacation selection time posted by the Employer will forfeit their seniority rights with respect to choice of vacation time. In such cases, the Employer reserves the right to schedule vacation time for the employee. A maximum of two (2) weeks of vacation time may be carried forward from one year to another. Employees who wish to carry vacation forward should notify the Employer by January 31st. If the employee has not requested all of their vacation leave, the Employer reserves the right to schedule the remaining vacation days within the last four (4) months of the calendar year. The Employer may also pay out unused vacation credits at the end of February each calendar year.

  • Convicted, Discriminatory, Antitrust Violator, and Suspended Vendor Lists In accordance with sections 287.133, 287.134, and 287.137, F.S., the Contractor is hereby informed of the provisions of sections 287.133(2)(a), 287.134(2)(a), and 287.137(2)(a), F.S. For purposes of this Contract, a person or affiliate who is on the Convicted Vendor List, the Discriminatory Vendor List, or the Antitrust Violator Vendor List may not perform work as a contractor, supplier, subcontractor, or consultant under the Contract. The Contractor must notify the Department if it or any of its suppliers, subcontractors, or consultants have been placed on the Convicted Vendor List, the Discriminatory Vendor List, or the Antitrust Violator Vendor List during the term of the Contract. In accordance with section 287.1351, F.S., a vendor placed on the Suspended Vendor List may not enter into or renew a contract to provide any goods or services to an agency after its placement on the Suspended Vendor List. A firm or individual placed on the Suspended Vendor List pursuant to section 287.1351, F.S., the Convicted Vendor List pursuant to section 287.133, F.S., the Antitrust Violator Vendor List pursuant to section 287.137, F.S., or the Discriminatory Vendor List pursuant to section 287.134, F.S., is immediately disqualified from Contract eligibility.

  • Permitted and Required Uses/Disclosures of PHI 3.1 Except as limited in this Agreement, Business Associate may use or disclose PHI to perform Services, as specified in the underlying grant or contract with Covered Entity. The uses and disclosures of Business Associate are limited to the minimum necessary, to complete the tasks or to provide the services associated with the terms of the underlying agreement. Business Associate shall not use or disclose PHI in any manner that would constitute a violation of the Privacy Rule if used or disclosed by Covered Entity in that manner. Business Associate may not use or disclose PHI other than as permitted or required by this Agreement or as Required by Law. 3.2 Business Associate may make PHI available to its employees who need access to perform Services provided that Business Associate makes such employees aware of the use and disclosure restrictions in this Agreement and binds them to comply with such restrictions. Business Associate may only disclose PHI for the purposes authorized by this Agreement: (a) to its agents and Subcontractors in accordance with Sections 9 and 17 or, (b) as otherwise permitted by Section 3. 3.3 Business Associate shall be directly liable under HIPAA for impermissible uses and disclosures of the PHI it handles on behalf of Covered Entity, and for impermissible uses and disclosures, by Business Associate’s Subcontractor(s), of the PHI that Business Associate handles on behalf of Covered Entity and that it passes on to Subcontractors.
