Vacation leave hours. An employee eligible for leave benefits may donate a portion of 26 his or her accrued vacation hours to another employee eligible for leave benefits. The donation will 27 occur following written approval from both the donating and receiving employee’s directors. The 28 number of hours donated cannot exceed the donor’s accrued vacation balance as of the date of the 1 request. No donation of vacation hours shall be permitted where it would cause the employee 2 receiving the transfer to exceed his or her maximum annual vacation accrual.
Vacation leave hours. The contribution of vacation-leave hours occurs on grounds of a written arrangement. Vacation-leave hours can be turned in with a minimum of sixteen and a maximum of eighty hours per year. The remaining balance over one year with full-time employment should amount to at least 160 vacation- leave hours, where apart from the future leave already build-up leave can also be utilized. For those that are not active for the full duration of work the minimum and maximum number of staked hours as well as the remaining balance on vacation-leave hours is calculated in proportion to the agreed duration of work. If the turning in of vacation-leave hours is for the purchase of the objects Bicycle programme or Study costs (see paragraph 4), the vacation-leave hours for the coming three years can be used at the time of option. The resource vacation-leave hours cannot be used for the object reduction of travel expenses residence-work or for the object union dues. Employees who can prove that they make use of regular child-care can request payment of sixteen extra holiday-leave hours.
Vacation leave hours. 9 1. Approval Required - An employee eligible for paid leave may donate a 10 portion of his/her accrued vacation leave to another employee eligible for leave benefits. Such 11 donation will occur upon written request to and approval of the donating and receiving employee’s 12 supervisor; except, that requests for vacation donation made for the purposes of supplementing the 13 sick leave benefits of the receiving employee will not be denied unless approval would result in a 14 departmental hardship for the receiving department.
15 2. Limitations - The number of hours donated will not exceed the donor’s 16 accrued vacation credit as of the date of the request. No donation of vacation hours will be permitted 17 where it would cause the employee receiving the transfer to exceed his/her maximum vacation 18 accrual.
19 3. Return of Unused Donations - Donated vacation leave hours must be used 20 within ninety (90) calendar days following the date of donation. Donated hours not used within 21 ninety (90) days or due to the death of the receiving employee will revert to the donor. Donated 22 vacation leave hours will be excluded from vacation leave payoff provisions contained in this Article.

Any full-time regular employee or part-time regular employee, who is 13 employed at least half-time and receives vacation and sick leave may donate a portion of his or her 14 accrued vacation leave to a full-time regular employee or part-time regular employee who is 15 employed at least half-time and receives vacation and sick leave. Such donation will occur upon 16 written request to and approval of the Council Administrator or designee and the receiving 17 employees’ department director(s).
18 2. The number of hours donated shall not exceed the donor’s accrued vacation 19 credits as of the date of the request. No donation of vacation hours shall be permitted where it would 20 cause the employee receiving the transfer to exceed his or her maximum vacation accrual.
21 3. Donated vacation leave hours must be used within ninety (90) calendar 22 days following the date of donation. Donated hours not used within ninety (90) days or due to the 23 death of the receiving employee shall revert to the donor. Donated vacation leave hours shall be 24 excluded from vacation leave payoff provisions contained in this Agreement. Donated vacation 25 hours may not be used until the employee’s own accrued hours have been used.
Vacation leave hours. If an employee has a sick leave balance of less than five hundred (500) hours at the end of the calendar year and uses eight (8) hours or less of sick leave in the same calendar year, the employee shall be permitted to exchange up to twenty-four (24) hours of sick leave for an equal number of vacation leave hours. If an employee has a sick leave balance of less than five hundred (500) hours at the end of the calendar year and uses more than eight (8) hours (8+ to 16) of sick leave in the same calendar year, the employee shall be permitted to exchange up to eight (8) hours of sick leave for an equal number of vacation leave hours.

Employees who can prove that they make use of regular child-care may request payment of 16 extra holiday-leave days as of 1 January 2006.

Vacation leave hours. Any comprehensive leave eligible employee may donate a 13 portion of their accrued vacation leave to another employee eligible for comprehensive leave 14 benefits. Such donation will occur upon written request to and approval of the donating director(s), 15 except that requests for vacation donation made for the purposes of supplementing the sick leave 16 benefits of the receiving employee shall not be denied unless approval would result in a hardship for 17 the Council.
Vacation leave hours. Any regular, or term-limited temporary employee who 4 has completed at least one (1) year of service may donate to any other regular or term-limited 5 temporary employee a portion of his or her accrued vacation for the purpose of supplementing the 6 sick or family leave benefits of the receiving employee.
7 1. Donated vacation hours shall be converted to a dollar value based upon the 8 donor’s straight time rate.
9 2. Vacation donations are strictly voluntary. Employees are prohibited from 10 offering or receiving monetary or any other compensation in exchange for donating vacation hours. 11 The number of hours donated shall not exceed the donor’s accrued vacation credit as of the date of 12 the request.
13 3. Donated vacation hours must be used within ninety (90) calendar days.
