The PUSH 9 course includes curriculum that is taught through classroom discussion, higher order thinking and questioning (Xxxxx’s Levels of Questioning), critical, creative and strategic thinking and writing, WICOR Strategies. Measurable goals and objectives will be attached to each unit of the course and students will work to master career exploration course standards for Los Medanos College’s Introduction to Career Exploration and College Success. By the end of the course students will be able to:
1. Write notes using a proven college method “Cornell Notes” in each of your core classes.
2. Inquire/Ask higher-order questions based on Xxxxx’s Levels of Questioning.
3. Collaborate/Work in partners, as groups or a class for a common goal.
4. Organize notes, a binder, and a student planner with techniques presented in class.

After the tutorial session, take time to reflect upon learning using details from the presenters.

This competency-based course prepares the student for an entry-level position in a studio, assisting a recording engineer or working with a recording studio musician. Integrated throughout the course are career technical education standards which include basic academic skills, communication, career planning, technology, problem solving, safety, responsibility, ethics, teamwork, and technical knowledge.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES) FOR ARTICULATION. Personal Finance is a year-long course which cultivates decision-making skills, examines real world financial issues and helps students develop good habits they will use in their daily lives. Students will investigate career choices and build budgets appropriate to that income base as well as analyze their personal finance and money management relative to higher education and its costs. Students will research banking, buying cars and homes, renting, taxes and investing their money. Students will also develop an understanding of business, finance, management and marketing for success in those fields. Technology will be used as a tool to facilitate these investigations and to complete most projects. Projects will involve research, reading, writing reports and oral presentations. In addition to projects, the students will use math skills to investigate real world problems and practice math skills that will be used in their daily lives based on Common Core standards. Assessments will be in the form of performance tasks, quizzes, portfolios, and a final exam. Students will develop a deep understanding of the expectations and situations they will face as productive young adults.

7. Recognize the sequence and relation between all the body systems. Human Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Diagnostic Procedures, Therapeutic Options, Rehabilitation procedures and Disease Prevention.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES) FOR ARTICULATION. This class will provide students with a comprehensive medical vocabulary, including pronunciation, spelling, reading, prefixes, suffixes, and medical word roots, the process of defining medical words based on word root understanding of anatomy, basic physiology and the disease process through body systems. Students associate abbreviations, symbols, diagnostic procedures, pharmaceuticals and treatment for each of the body systems (Integumentary, gastrointestinal, digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, lymph, musculoskeletal, genitourinary, reproductive systems, endocrine and nervous systems.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES) FOR ARTICULATION. This course is an advanced life science geared to give an introductory background to students interested in careers in nursing, dentistry, medicine, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, and the life sciences in general. A concentrated study of the human body includes the following areas: cytology, histology, skeletal and muscular systems, the nervous system and special senses, nutrition and the digestive system, the circulatory system, the respiratory system, the endocrine system, and the reproductive system. When possible, an integral part of the course is devoted to work in the laboratory.
