Returning Employee. An employee whose employment with the District terminates for reasons other than just cause, and who is subsequently rehired by the District shall be compensated at the base pay plus up to five years experience for previous employment with the District. Such employee shall, nevertheless, be subject to the probationary period for new employees, except that as to such employee Article 18 pertains to the grievance procedure.

Returning Employee. A former employee who returns to employment in a unit position will be credited for previous time served and will accrue benefits at the level associated with their time served for purposes of Articles 10 (Hiring), 13 (Reduction in Force) and 24 (Severance Pay).

  • Returning Employee Rights Employees returning from authorized leave without pay will be employed in the same position or in another position in the same job classification, as determined by the Employer, provided that such reemployment is not in conflict with other articles in this Agreement. The order of layoff within categories 1, 2, and 3, and for permanent employees with equal layoff ratings, shall be at the appointing authority's discretion. Employees on leave shall be laid off or demoted in lieu of layoff as if they were active employees.
