Right to Organize and Participate. Employees shall have the right to organize, join and assist the Association, to participate in negotiations with the Board through representatives of their own choosing and to engage in other activities for the purpose of establishing, maintaining and protecting or improving conditions of service.

The Board and Association shall not discriminate against any teacher for reason of membership or non-membership in the Association, participating in lawful negotiations with the Board, or the institution of any grievance or proceeding under the Agreement.

Bargaining unit members shall have the right to form, join, or assist professional employees’ organizations, and to participate in professional negotiations with the Board through representatives of their own choosing. Bargaining unit members shall have the right to refrain from any and all such activity, and membership shall not be a prerequisite for employment or continuation of employment of any employee.
