SALARY ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM. All new, transferred or promoted employees will normally receive the minimum salary for the position classification to which the employee is assigned. Exceptions to this rule are as follows:
SALARY ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM. The parties hereby adopt and incorporate by reference the ALPA “Salary Administration Program” a copy of which is attached as Appendix C . Consistent with the philosophy set forth therein, it is further agreed that the system shall be implemented in the following manner:
A . Whenever ALPA determines that a need exists for the creation of a new job classification or for the substantial modification of the duties or responsibilities assigned to any existing job, it shall furnish to the Union the proposed job description and salary classification. After affording the Union five (5) working days for comment, the Employer may implement its proposal .
B . Accurate job descriptions shall be maintained for all jobs and shall be changed to reflect all significant changes in job duties. Copies of all job descriptions, including any new or changed job descriptions, shall be provided to the Union and each employee holding the affected position . After the employee(s) and/or the Union complete their comments on the job description, any change in grade shall be effective within sixty (60) days; provided that the time limit in this sentence will not apply if the Employer is conducting a formal study of all Xxxx 0 positions .
C . If the Union or an employee believes a job should be upgraded, a written request may be submitted to Human Resources. Human Resources shall respond with a decision within ninety (90) days of receipt of the completed employee Position Content Questionnaire and, if the job is upgraded, said upgrade shall be retroactive to the date of the request.
