SCHEDULING EXTENDED TOURS. (a) The normal tours of duty for each unit will not be changed without prior discussion with the Association. Affected nurses will receive six weeks notice of any change. The day shift is the first shift of the day. A regular part-time nurse will not be scheduled to work more than four consecutive days. The Hospital will not schedule split shifts. There shall be twenty-four hours between the start of shifts. At least forty-eight hours must be scheduled off following the night tour when changing over from nights to days. A shorter period of time may be scheduled by mutual consent. Schedules covering a six week period will be posted no less than fourteen days in advance. Scheduled standby hours will be included on the posted schedule. A regular part-time nurse may be permitted to exchange her scheduled tours of duty with another nurse provided that requests for such changes are submitted in writing in advance and co-signed by the nurse willing to exchange days' off or tours of duty. Such requests are subject to the approval of the Hospital, but will not be unreasonably denied. Any such changes approved by the Hospital shall not result in any overtime payment or any other additional premium to either nurse. A regular part-time nurse will not be required to change tours of duty (nights, evenings, and days) more than once during a period of seven consecutive days. The acceptance of additional voluntary shifts by a nurse shall not result in a violation of this provision. A regular part-time nurse may request to work primarily nights. Any such request which has been approved by the Hospital is not to be construed as a guaranteed shift assignment and will be subject to reevaluation from time to time. Nurses working primarily nights will be required to work days for performance appraisal purposes and may be required to work days for other purposes. Nurses who work primarily nights will not be rotated without prior discussion between the nurse and her immediate supervisor. A weekend is defined as being sixty consecutive hours off work, in the period following the completion of the Friday day shift until the commencement of the Monday day shift. This definition does not apply to nurses working primarily nights. The Hospital will schedule every other weekend off. If a regular part-time nurse is required to work on a second consecutive and subsequent weekend, she will receive premium payment as defined in Article of the Collective Agreement for all hours worked on the ...

  • Contract Term Extension “Contract Term Extension” means an extension of the term of this contract, at the request of Purchaser, under this Subsection. This Subsection does not obligate Contracting Officer to grant Contract Term Extension. When such extension is made, Forest Service shall make an appraisal using standard Forest Service methods and appraisal data in effect 45 days prior to the original Termination Date. Bid Premium Rates shall be added to such appraised rates to establish Flat Rates or Tentative Rates for the extension period.
