School Appearance Leave. Except as otherwise provided by law, unpaid time off for a parent or guardian to appear in the school (i.e., Kindergarten to grade 12, or licensed child care provider) of a pupil pursuant to a request made pursuant to Education Code §48900.1 (Labor Code §230.7).

School Appearance Leave. Employees who are the parents or guardians of a child facing suspension, and are summoned to appear at the school to discuss the matter, may leave work for this purpose. This time off is unpaid, or employees may use available personal days for this purpose. Employees will not be disciplined for taking this time off, but must notify EBASE before leaving work. EBASE may require the employee to provide documentation from the school for verification purposes.
School Appearance Leave. (School Partnership Act) HPSJ will grant time off to employees to attend to matters that involve their children from in day care, kindergarten, or grades one through 12, as applicable by law.
