School Related Injury Leave. 10.3.1 An educational assistant who is injured in the course of carrying out duties and responsibilities as an employee of the District shall be granted leave without loss of pay for a period not to exceed five (5) days. If such injury is the result of assault, leave without loss of pay if verified to be medically necessary shall be granted for a period not to exceed ten (10) days. In no case shall the combined benefits paid to the educational assistant from Workers' Compensation and the use of this leave exceed the employee's regularly-scheduled salary for the period of leave used. This provision shall apply provided that the educational assistant acted in an appropriate and professional manner and with appropriate precautions.

  • INJURY LEAVE In the event an unusual circumstance exists regarding the original six (6) months of injury leave, and the employee did not use injury leave hours due to the injury or did not lose work time, the Fire Chief with the approval of the Human Resources Director may extend such injury leave. However, under no circumstances shall the total time granted be greater than twelve (12) months of injury leave, or an actual six (6) months of lost work time because of the injury.
