Section 100. 2: REPRESENTATIVES

Section 100. For all employees, any employee ineligible for first or second day sick pay under this provision shall be permitted to use up to five (5) days per year of vacation accrued pursuant to Section 45 or unused personal holidays as payment for such employee’s first or second day sick time, at the employee’s election. Notwithstanding other requirements to use personal holidays or unused and accrued vacation, there shall be no management discretion to deny pay for such absence, except that a doctor’s certification or other authoritative verification of illness may be required by the Employer. In order to use personal holidays and/or vacation pay for a sick absence, the employee must provide at least two (2) hours’ notice prior to the start of such employee’s scheduled shift.

Section 100. The Company and Union agree that the Employer will comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Act and its employees are responsible for adhering to the safety program by working safely, being continually alert so they may prevent injury to themselves, fellow employees, and our customers. Employees are responsible for reporting any safety hazards immediately to plant management so that they may be addressed in accord with the Company safety program.
Section 100. The City hereby recognizes the Union as the exclusive bargaining representative, for the purpose of collective bargaining with the Employer in respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of employment and other conditions of employment for those classifications of employees covered by this Agreement. The bargaining unit shall consist of all full-time and regular part-time Dispatchers and Dispatch Coordinators in the employ of the City of Farmington Hills Police Department but excluding all supervisors, casual employees and all other employees.
Section 100. When an employee is injured on the job, there shall be no deduction from the employee's pay for the day in which the employee was injured and reported for medical care. In no case shall the Employer's obligation exceed eight (8) hours, and there shall be no payment for any overtime hours missed because of the injury.
