Section 9.8.3. 44 The employee will retain accrued sick leave, vested vacation, and seniority while on leave of 45 absence. However, no sick leave, vacation, or other benefits may be applied or will accrue 46 while the employee is on leave of absence. 47

However, vacation credits, sick leave, and seniority shall not accrue while the 1 employee is on leave of absence; provided, however, that if such leave is approved for extended 2 illness or injury, seniority shall not accrue.
Section 9.8.3. 5 An individual shall forfeit all rights to reemployment with the District if the individual does not 6 comply with the requirements in Section 9.7.
Section 9.8.3. An employee shall forfeit rights to reemployment as provided in Section 9.5 if the employee 22 does not comply with the requirements of Section 9.8.2, or if the employee does not respond to 23 the offer of reemployment within five (5) days after actual receipt.
Section 9.8.3. 43 The employee will retain accrued illness and injury leave, vested vacation rights, and seniority 44 rights while on leave of absence. However, vacation credits, illness and injury leave, and 45 seniority shall not accrue while the employee is on leave of absence.
Section 9.8.3. 9 An employee shall be granted leave without pay up to a 12-week maximum for the purpose of 10 caring for a terminally ill child under the age of eighteen (18).
Section 9.8.3. 34 There will be a limitation of no more than two (2) employees absent from a given building 35 under the personal leave provision.

Section 9.8.3. 25 Upon returning from leave of absence, of more than five (5) days, the employee's seniority shall 26 be adjusted by removing the leave of absence time from total service time.
Section 9.8.3. An employee may transfer sick leave to another employee requesting shared leave as long as 34 they maintain a minimum of 176 hours or 22 days of sick leave after they transfer. There is no 35 limit to the number of days that may be transferred. Employees may also donate any amount of 36 accrued vacation days as long as they maintain a balance of ten (10) days.
