SECTION E - PROFESSIONAL LEAVE. 35 36 A one-day visitation period will be made available to any employee who wishes to observe in 37 an outside school district subject to the approval of the building principal. SECTION E - PROFESSIONAL LEAVE. A teacher wishing to request approval for professional travel at district expense and without loss of pay will make application to his/her immediate supervisor on the districts form "Request to Attend Professional Meetings". The supervisor will forward the form with a recommendation to the Superintendent. The Superintendent will approve or deny the request after considering the merits of the request and the availability of budgeted funds. A separate fund shall be maintained for meetings deemed mandatory by the administration or the state. Teachers attending a half-day conference shall be allowed a thirty minute duty free lunch period along with travel time to and/or from the conference location.
SECTION E - PROFESSIONAL LEAVE. Professional leave of one (1) year without pay may be granted upon application to the Board by an employee on the following basis:

  • Professional Leave Professional leave without pay will be granted to full-time and regular part- time employees who are elected to or appointed to the College of Nurses or the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario or the Registered Practical Nurses’ Association of Ontario to attend regularly scheduled meetings of the College of Nurses or the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario or the Registered Practical Nurses’ Association of Ontario subject to the following limitations:

  • Professional Leaves 1. Professional Leaves are to be used by an employee to gain knowledge for the position contracted through Bath Local Schools. The employee must request Professional Leave through the employee kiosk. Upon approval, the employee may be permitted to attend the Professional Meeting and will be paid at the regular rate.

  • Educational Leave Leave without pay may be granted for educational leave for the duration of actual attendance in an educational program.

  • Additional Leaves Should an employee require additional time to care for a gravely ill family member, additional leaves may be granted beyond the eight (8) week period specified above. Such additional leave shall be pursuant to Article 13.02

  • Additional Leave Any further leave granted beyond the normal thirty-seven (37) week period, or the forty-two (42) week period for special circumstances, will be unpaid leave without benefits.

  • Educational Leave of Absence Leaves of absence may be granted up to six (6) months under the above provisions only if the course would be beneficial to both the University and the employee.

  • Extended Medical Leave A Staff Member may apply for extended medical leave for health reasons for the remainder of a current school year. The request for such leave must be accompanied by a statement from a physician indicating that such leave is necessary for the physical or emotional well-being of the Staff Member. Such leave may be granted upon receipt of said statement, upon the discretion of the Board and compliance with FMLA, USERRA, the ADA and the ADAAA of 2008.

  • PRIVATE BUSINESS/GENERAL/PERSONAL LEAVES OF ABSENCE 12.1 Teachers shall be allowed personal leave up to and including five (5) days in any one school year with the loss of substitutes’ pay only, and shall be deducted full salary for days absent for personal reasons in excess of five
