Senior Assistants Allowance. (a) An Assistant may apply to receive a senior assistant’s allowance (five years), subject to the following criteria: (i) The employee has completed at least five (5) years continuous service with the Employer. (ii) Completion of three (3) days professional development, in their own time, in each of the three (3) years preceding their application; and (iii) Provision, on request, of a portfolio of evidence of professional development activities undertaken; and (iv) A commitment to continue to participate in professional development. (b) An Assistant may apply to receive a senior assistant’s allowance (ten years), subject to the following criteria: (i) The employee has completed at least ten (10) years continuous service with the Employer. (ii) The employee continues to satisfy points (ii) through (iv) in paragraph (a) above. (c) The allowance shall be shown in Schedule 2 of this Agreement. (d) In the case of a part-time assistant, this allowance will be paid on a pro-rata basis according to the number of days per week worked. (e) For the purposes of this clause, a day of professional development would require a minimum of six (6) hours course content. (f) For the purposes of this allowance, professional development is a professional activity conducted by an accredited professional body, i.e. C&K, ECA, ECTA, Department of Education and the Arts, IEUA-QNT/IEUA, TAFE, university where the content/topic/theme is based on early childhood education. (g) Professional development for the purposes of this allowance does not include first aid or fire safety training. (h) Should an Assistant wish to have any other activity recognised as relevant professional development for the purposes of this allowance, they are required to provide details of attendance (including hours), the nature of the course work involved and the providers of the course. (i) To ensure continued payment of this allowance, Assistants may, on an annual basis, be required to submit a portfolio of evidence of professional development activities undertaken during the previous year.

Senior Assistants Allowance a) An assistant with five (5) years and up to 7.5 years continuous service with the employer will receive an allowance in addition to their wages prescribed in clause 2.2. b) An assistant with 7.5 years and up to ten (10) years of continuous service with the employer will receive an allowance in addition to their wages prescribed in clause 2.2. c) An assistant with ten (10) or more years of continuous service with the employer will receive an allowance in addition to their wages prescribed in clause 2.2. d) In the case of a part-time assistant, the senior assistant’s allowance as prescribed in sub- clauses (a), (b) and (c) above will be paid on a pro-rata basis. e) The Senior Assistants Allowance is shown in Schedule 2 of this Agreement.

  • Education Allowance Provisions in existing Collective Agreements providing for educational allowances shall be continued in effect.

  • Retirement Allowance Prior to issuing notice of layoff pursuant to article 9.08(a)(ii) in any classification(s), the Hospital will offer early-retirement allowance to a sufficient number of employees eligible for early retirement under HOOPP within the classification(s) in order of seniority, to the extent that the maximum number of employees within a classification who elect early retirement is equivalent to the number of employees within the classification(s) who would otherwise receive notice of layoff under article 9.08(a)(ii). An employee who elects an early retirement option shall receive, following completion of the last day of work, a retirement allowance of two weeks' salary for each year of service, plus a prorated amount for any additional partial year of service, to a maximum ceiling of 26 weeks' salary, and, in addition, full-time employees shall receive a single lump-sum payment equivalent to $1,000 for each year less than age 65 to a maximum of $5,000 upon retirement."

  • Travelling Allowance Where an employee is required to attend or conduct a clinic away from their base hospital, or attend to employer business away from their base hospital, the employer shall, wherever possible, pay all accommodation, meals and travel costs (i.e. the employee shall not be required to pay for such expenses and get reimbursed at a later date). Employees shall be entitled, with prior approval, to claim any actual and reasonable expenses incurred.

  • Meal Allowance A shift worker who works a qualifying shift of eight hours or the rostered shift, whichever is the greater, and who is required to work more than one hour beyond the end of the shift (excluding any break for a meal) shall be paid a meal allowance of $7.95, or, at the option of the employer, be provided with a meal.
