Recognition of Experience. (a) When an employee is employed, and that employee has relevant previous experience in an educational institution, recognition shall be given for that employee’s previous experience in an educational institution.
(b) Relevant previous experience will include (but not be limited to) experience with kindergartens, creches, childcare centres, and schools.
(c) All relevant previous experience, prior to the operative date of this Agreement, shall be counted for the determination of an employee’s years of service.
(d) An employee may be required to provide evidence of such relevant previous experience, such as a statement of service.
Recognition of Experience. When placing an employee on the salary grid at date of hire, previous nursing experience may be recognized on the following basis:
Recognition of Experience. 1. Up to June 30, 1980, a minimum of eight months’ full-time employment during one school year in British Columbia public schools is required to constitute a year’s experience.
2. Up to June 30, 1980, where a teacher has completed in British Columbia public schools two full periods of full-time employment each of less than the above minimum eight months or more, the two such periods may be combined to constitute a year’s experience.
3. Up to June 30, 1980, periods of teaching service of less than six months during a school year may not be combined to carry credit. Those teachers holding staff appointments on a part-time basis are excepted. These teachers will accrue experience at the following rate: 4/5 or more time: One year experience for each year of teaching Between 2/5 and 4/5: One year experience for each two years of teaching Less than 2/5 time: Accrue experience until at least eight months have been reached before gaining one year of experience credit
4. From September 1, 1980, teachers having full-time assignments for less than a year, and/or part-time assignments will accrue experience credit at the following rate:
Recognition of Experience a. Teaching and related experience shall be credited for service in:
i. government inspected schools,
ii. Department of National Defence schools, and iii. a school while on an approved exchange.
b. Teachers who are employed to teach in fields of Industrial Education, Business Education, Music, Art or Library, with experience in a field outside of teaching equivalent to a Journeyman in the industrial sense and closely related to the above mentioned subjects, may, upon the approval of a committee consisting of an equal number of representatives of the Board and the Association, be credited with not more than five (5) increments in addition to years of teaching experience recognized for salary increments. Such increments shall be valid only while teaching in the field of specialization.
Recognition of Experience. An allowance as recognition of relevant past service in nursing shall be given a newly hired Nurse on the basis of one (1) year of such relevant experience shall equal one (1) step past Start Rate on the Salary Schedule up to the maximum of the salary grid.
Recognition of Experience. Except as provided elsewhere in this Article, each year of teaching service shall be given full recognition for increment purposes, the onus being on the teacher to provide evidence of such service.
Recognition of Experience a. All teaching experience in government inspected schools shall be recognized and credited for placement on the salary schedule. Additionally, teachers with experience outside of teaching in a field or fields related closely to the main subjects of their courses may be credited with not more than five (5) years of experience, but in no event shall their salary exceed the maximum of the certificate classification on which they are paid.
b. i. Full time teachers working ten (10) months per school year will be granted one (1) year's experience for increment purposes.
Recognition of Experience. Effective December 31, 2002, employees shall receive recognition for recent related clinical experience on the basis of one annual service increment for each year of experience up to the maximum on the salary grid. This provision shall be applicable to nurses now employed and to new hires, but no adjustments shall be made prior to the effective date.
Recognition of Experience. Claim for recent related clinical experience, if any, shall be made in writing by the nurse at the time of hiring on the application for employment form or otherwise. The nurse shall co-operate with the Home by providing verification of previous experience so that her/his recent related clinical experience may be determined and evaluated during her/his probationary period. Having established the recent related clinical experience, the Home will credit a new nurse with one (1) annual service increment for every year of experience. If a period of more than three (3) years has elapsed since the nurse has occupied a full-time or part-time nursing position, then the number of increments to be paid, if any, shall be at the discretion of the Home, provided that such discretion shall be exercised in a reasonable manner. This provision shall apply to nurses currently employed by the Home effective the date of the award and shall not involve any retroactivity.
Recognition of Experience. 1. Full recognition will be given to all experience in a. public schools of the British Commonwealth and the United States which are approved by the School Board;
