Sick Leave During Absence. Employees shall not be entitled to payment under this article while on leave without pay, layoff or long term disability.

Sick Leave During Absence. When an employee is given leave of absence without pay for any reason or is laid off on account of lack of work and returns to work upon expiration of such leave of absence, etc., he shall not receive sick leave credit for the period of such absence but shall retain his accumulated credit for that calendar year, if any, existing at the time of the commencement of such leave or layoff.
Sick Leave During Absence. When an Employee returns to work after an approved leave of absence or within twelve (12) months of being laid off, the amount of accrued sick leave at the beginning of such leave of absence or layoff shall be credited to the Employee.

  • Approved Leave of Absence During Vacation Where it can be established by the employee through a doctor's certificate that an illness or accident occurred, or where an employee qualifies for bereavement or any other approved leave during his/her period of vacation, there shall be no deduction from vacation credits for such absence. The period of vacation so displaced shall either be added to the vacation or reinstated for use at a later date, at the employee's option, as mutually agreed.

  • Illness During Vacation (The following clause is applicable to full-time employees only) Where an employee's scheduled vacation is interrupted due to serious illness, which either commenced prior to or during the scheduled vacation period, the period of such illness shall be considered sick leave. Serious illness is defined as an illness which requires the employee to receive on-going medical care and/or treatments resulting in either hospitalization or which would confine the employee to their residence or to bed rest for more than three days. The portion of the employee's vacation which is deemed to be sick leave under the above provisions will not be counted against the employee's vacation credits.

  • Employment During Unpaid Maternity Leave (g) Where less than the 52 weeks Other Parent Leave is taken paid or unpaid, the unused portion of the leave cannot be banked or preserved in any way.
