SICK LEAVE/MATERNITY LEAVE/BEREAVEMENT LEAVE. Sick Leave/Maternity Leave/Bereavement Leave shall be administered in accordance with the City of Sarasota Rules and Regulations. An employee shall, upon request, be granted three (3) days administrative leave with pay on the death of any member of the immediate family, as defined by this Subsection. For a related death and/or funeral outside of the State of Florida, the employee shall be granted an additional two (2) days of administrative leave with pay. The definition of immediate family members is defined as spouse and the following of the employee or the employee’s spouse: grandparent, parents, stepparents, brothers, sisters, stepbrothers, stepsisters, children, stepchildren and grandchildren.

  • Bereavement Leave of Absence An employee who has a bereavement in their immediate family will be granted up to and including five (5) days absence with pay. Immediate family means spouse, (as defined in Section 2(b) of Appendix 2), parents, and child. For this provision “step” relationships are considered as immediate family. An employee who has a bereavement in their family will be granted up to and including three (3) days absence with pay. Family means brother, sister, parents-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren, son-in-law and daughter-in-law. For this provision “step” relationships are considered as family. In the event of the death of an employee's brother-in-law, sister-in-law or grand parents- in-law the employee will be given one (1) days' leave with pay to attend the funeral. An additional day's traveling time, in each direction, will be granted in order for the employee to attend the funeral if such is to be held in excess of 600 kilometers from the employees’ home.

  • SICK LEAVE AND BEREAVEMENT LEAVE Section 1. a. Employees shall be eligible to use paid sick leave after 30 calendar days of service with the Employer. Employees shall earn sick leave as of their date of hire in accordance with the following schedule: Maximum Sick Leave Entitlement Per Year Sick Leave will be 37.5 Hr. Workweek: 82.5 Hrs. (11 days) earned at the rate of 40 Hr. Workweek: 88 Hrs. (11 days) 4.24% of all Regular Hours Paid

  • Bereavement Leave (a) Upon the death of an employee's spouse, spouse to include same sex partner, child or stepchild, an employee shall be granted leave up to a maximum of five (5) continuous calendar days without loss of pay. One of the days of leave shall include the day of the funeral or equivalent service. Additional days off with or without pay may be granted by the Employer. Part-time employees will be credited with seniority and service for all such leave. In the event of a delayed interment or ceremony for reason of religion or other protected grounds under the Ontario Human Rights Code, an Employee may save one of the days identified above without loss of pay to attend the interment or ceremony.

  • MATERNITY LEAVE OF ABSENCE A Maternity Leave of Absence will be granted, subject to the following:

  • Paid Bereavement Leave 12.19.1 An Employee shall be granted a minimum of five (5) regularly scheduled consecutive work days, without loss of pay or benefits, in the case of death or serious illness of the Employee's spouse or common-law spouse.

  • Funeral/Bereavement Leave In the event of death in the immediate family of an employee, the employee will be granted leave of absence with pay, with consideration given to travel time for the purpose of attending the funeral.   • Union Leave of Absence An employee on an unpaid Union leave of absence shall have her wages, benefits and seniority continued by the Employer, and the Union agrees to reimburse the Employer for the costs of such wages and benefits. Employees requesting leave under this article will provide the Employer with as much advance notice as possible of the dates of the leave. Where there are less than fifteen (15) regular employees at a workstation at the time the leave request is submitted, and subject to operational requirements, unpaid Union leave of absence will be granted to one employee for the purpose of conducting Union business. This would be an additional person on Union leave at worksites where the position of the Union President or Council member has been backfilled for the duration of their term of office.
